Hey all-

I have got a pound of Power Pistol on the way and I was hoping I could get some input/recipes from you all.

It will be used primarily in 40 S&W but I would like to try it out in 45 ACP as well. I have loaded many thousand of rounds of 45 ACP using Bullseye and it has become my favorite pistol powder. Can the Power Pistol stack up against it?

Any input and/or recipes are greatly appreciated. I currently have 165 GR. JHP's for the 40 S&W and 230 FMJ's for the 45.

Hornady 7th edition and Speer 13th edition have listings for power pistol.

Power Pistol used to be called Bullseye 84.
It smells and looks just like Bullseye.
Power Pistol is, however, denser.

Power Pistol can deliver the highest velocity in 45acp and the second highest in 40sw after 800X.

That is per real limitations, not per what the load books say.

I mostly use HS6 and WSF for my 40 S&W loads for a Glock Model 22 with KKM barrel but here are some of the Power Pistol load recipes I've tried with some comments:

150 gr. Nosler JHP - 7.6 gr. PP - not accurate
150 gr. Nosler JHP - 7.8 gr. PP - better accuracy
150 gr. Nosler JHP - 8.0 gr. PP - noticeably more kick than previous
150 gr. Nosler JHP - 8.2 gr. PP - most accurate for this bullet

135 gr. Nosler JHP - 8.8 gr. PP - better accuracy than 150 gr. bullets
135 gr. Nosler JHP - 9.0 gr. PP - muzzle velocity = 1320 fps, stout recoil, very accurate - 1.5 inch groups (5 shot) at 25 yards.

I prefer HS6 because it meters better than PP, is very consistent, and my muzzle velocities are right on book values (Speer). For reasons that escape me WSF is the most accurate for me with just about any bullet. As you can see I haven't run too many loads through the chronograph with Power Pistol but hope this little bit helps.

I use PP with great results in .380acp, 9mm Para, 9mm Makarov and .45acp when loading jacketed slugs.
the best accuracy out of my Camp Guns (Marlins) and velocity also.
I use Bullseye when loading cast slugs with better results. (cast slugs don't shoot well and foul badly in my Marlin Camp guns)

I bought a pound of power pistol and can not find a lot of loading data. I am loading 45 acp and all I've found if loading data for fmj bullets. I was wundering if power pistol can be used with 230 gr lead round nose.
