I shoot trap and use Alliant Clay Dot to reload my shotshells.

Does anyone use Clay Dot for handguns? Can you share recipes for:
1. .45 ACP, 230 gr lead RN
2. .40 S&W, 180 gr FMJ
3. 9mm, 124 gr FMJ

Thanks

Although Alliant makes no remark toward pistol data, or has pistol data for Clay Dot that I know of, they do have a convoluted web page that I find interesting in its wording:

http://www.alliantpowder.com/products/powder/clay_dot.aspx

Boy they just hate saying "Clays" don't they! When I first saw this page, and read about Clay Dot prior to the page, it sure seemed that it was an absolute clone of Clays, down to it's volume per grain, and application of pressure. I took it to be fully and absolutely interchangeable with any data developed for Clays, to include handgun.

Lots of accidents with Clays. Spikey stuff Maynard! Load Clay Dot without published data at your own risk.

Alliant Clay Dot was intentionally made to be a clone of Hodgdon Clays in every respect.

I've used Hodgdon Clays a lot and it's great stuff for the low pressure calibers of 38 Spl. & 45acp but I will not use it again in other calibers.
