Figured I'd give you guys a heads up. Looks like Altamont grips released the gp100 target grips they are putting on the new talo edition shown here

They also are offering the lett style compact grips with checkering and scales too. Along with the grips that are coming on the sp101 match champion. Kind of nice to finally pick up a set,I ordered the gp100 ones last night.

While the Hogue grips on my GP100 are the ugliest grip ever made... They sure work well. If I focus on the sights I forget about them until I unload.

With that said, do target grips work better than non target grips ?

I think it's more of a personal thing if they work better for you or not. Sure they are called "target" grips, but it's not like they are hand crafted and tailor fit to your personal hands like true target grips would be. The hogues aren't called target grips, but the finger grooves and he shape makes for a very consistent and sturdy grip. So they may work better for alot of people than "target" grips

For me, grips like those we're talking about are a million times better than the Hogue monogrip.

Not a fan of the monogrip monogrip myself. I shoot well with iti, but its ugly and i dont really like the tackiness of rubber or finger grooves. So i put a set of the gp100 match champion grips on my gp100 most recently. While I like them alot,I've been trying to hunt down a set of the smooth or checkered grips like yours. But didn't have any luck. I even emailed lipseys and talo but they wouldn't sell just the grips. As much as I'd like a 4" gp100 or the new 5" half lugs I can't justify buying one just for grips. None of my LGS have had either gun to try out either. Than I saw Altamont released them the other night and jumped right on it!can't wait lol I'm Really looking forward to these and hoping that I like them the most and they will end my grip quest. Because right now I have too many gripsfor my gp100 (I know I have a problem)
-Hogue monogrip
-No finger groove monogrip
-Match champion grip
-Thialand checkered finger groove grips
-Thialand smooth grips (I sanded to fit my hands)
-lett style grip
-compact lett style (returned these)
-pachmayr grippers
-pachmayr compacts
-Pachnayr diamond pros

Hopefully these Altamont will satisfy me,if they do I'm going to sell all the other grips on here for a good deal to my fellow members.

I have a few sets of grips for the sp101 but my current ones from grips4u.bet are perfect so I should list the sp101 grips too.

-factory mini Lett
-pachnayr renegades
-pachmayr compacts
-thialand finger groove
-grip4u.net black walnuts

Hello my name is Ethan and I have a grip hoarding problem.....

Are they skinny side to side? So many aftermarket grips are and I don't care for skinny grips. They look nice.

Here's a few pics compared to Lett and hogue grips.theyre skinnier than the Lett at top but fatter on the bottom

If you want better pics or compared to other grips lmk. Sorry about pic quality.

Also for those wondering there are two pins, one on each side of the grip that protrude so the grips lock together and can't shift .along with a big hole cut for the factory locator pin. They are well though out. Mine fit pretty well. But I did lay a piece of gorrila tape on the backside along the frame in the grips to tighten them up. Had to do the same thing with the grips on my sp101 pictured above.

Don't get too excited; most of the full-size inserts are "temporarily unavailable" as are the full-size combos. Sigh....
I used their Paladin thumb-hole stock to bed my 10/22, and while I like the ergonomics, it's not easy to use with a rear rest. Excellent quality, however.

Crikey! That is simply magnificent. When did the 4" blued become available? I have been out of the lo0p (as usual).
