I found 500 .224 Nosler Varmageddon BT for $65 and couldn't pass it up. I began loading them with cci 450 primers, same year LC brass and Benchmark powder and the beginning results were not that great and I was losing all hope for them. My OCD and seeing a buddy almost blow his hand and face off with an overcharge years ago I seldom go past 24gr because of the short throat (bullets being seated deeper) and 55gr V max usually gives me touching at 100 yards with 23-24gr of Benchmark so I always left it at that to be safe. Today I decided to load about 6 tenths from max and if I needed to pull any I would and I'm sure glad I did. Starting and medium charges were not all that great and wouldn't even touch each other until I hit 24.6 and I tell ya what I am amazed!!
I could only fire 4 shots cause I forgot to load 5. The two top targets are 24.6-25gr of benchmark. 4 shots in one ragged hole! If I didn't just say okay I'm doing a full workup I would have never found these two accuracy nodes. I am amazed how those two groups are!
