Always gun?

Unless forbidden by law - Glock 19 or SW 642 (if dress precludes the 19).

A pre-ban second generation Glock 19.

If and when Maryland's legislators ever come to their senses and start issuing concealed weapons permits I'll switch to either my Glock 36 or Smith & Wesson model 642.

KelTec P3AT, in one of R.J. Hedley's outstanding pocket holsters. Only time I am without it is in areas where interfering with criminal activity is illegal.

Don't laugh, but mine is an NAA Black Widow .22 WMR. Practice with the .22lr cylinder is cheap and a lot of fun. It's not much gun, but it sure beats no gun.

I keep an always gun, although I have a "main gun" 99% of the time I'm awake.

For quite a while it was a S&W Centennial in a pocket holster- first a 640 .357 loaded with Federal 125 JHP, then a 442 Airweight .38Spl loaded with 158 LSWC-HP.
Recently, a Kahr PM9 Covert loaded with Winchester Ranger 127 +P+ has replaced them. I can shoot it a LOT better.

KelTec P32 in an Uncle Mike's pocket holster. Fits in pockets of even thin shorts. Perfect for everyday. Not my preferred weapon, you understand. This fits into the "better than no gun" category.

Man, amazing to see that our cultural reality is that being at work in America means giving up your right to being armed.

Mine is a Kimber CDP Pro.

I'm starting to get into that whole 'concealed means concealed' mantra.

I carry my Steyr S40 at all times except for:
  • When I'm at the gym (in which case I have my wife's P3AT)
  • When I'm in bed (in which case the S40 is on the floor beside my bed)
  • When I'm in the shower (in which case the S40 is on the floor of the bathroom)

Only other times I am without a gun are when I go to the DMV or if I have any official business in a government building (which is almost never).

I'm going skiing on monday and am trying to figure out how I should carry there :p

I believe in always having one to the best of my abilities (commuting into MD for work sucks some of that up).

My normal piece for carry is a Springfield GI 1911, but that is a little hard to carry when the weather gets warm and humid or I am dressed up for an interview or something. Looking at a mouse gun of some kind to supplement.

My "always" gun is my Glock 27, which I find to be a magnificent compromise of caliber, concealability, reliability and durability. It is never far from me. Around the house, sometimes I'll leave it aside and keep my USP40 nearby instead.

Silly -- wear it in a shoulder rig! Or do what I used to do while snowboarding: Walther PPK in a pair of Thunderwear! Just realize that you won't be doing any quick-draws.

Hey, how do you like your Steyr pistol? I've liked that thing since the first time I saw it, but never bought one. I had an offer at a gun show of $450. Is that reasonable?

Kahr PM-9 in a Hidden Impact IWB holster by Highnoon holsters. It is my grab and go weapon. It is always loaded except when being cleaned or at the range during practice with it.

Since I can't carry at work it is nice to have it ready to go. I can go in the house, clip it on, then I am back out the door in 2 minutes flat :)

If I must go to more wild locations, such as Detroit, I will have the PM-9 as my BUG. I usually carry a Sig P229 in 357 sig or my Kimber TLE II. as my primary.

The small size and light weight of the PM-9 coupled with +P Golddots make it a good combination for "always gun"
