After seeing some antique push daggers in one of my gun reference books I decided to make one from some 1/4'' steel plate I cut from an old trailer hitch I replaced on a vehicle at work. I cut the rough shape out with an angle grinder, ground it to shape with my 7'' disc grinder. Used a 6'' DA (orbital) sander to finish and then hand polished it with MAAS metal polish and an old t-shirt. Tempering was not necessary since it is a stab weapon, not for cutting. The scales are oak, attached by 3M double sided tape.:D It was fun to make.

Nice job on the push dagger, which you may need to help protect all those silver coins, and that nice looking pocket watch.

Thanks guys! Valkman you've got some nice knives! You have a Case Hobo to match one of mine. I also have another Case Hobo that breaks down into 3 pieces, Knife, fork, and spoon. For 30 years I gave my Dad 3 Case knives a year on B-day, F-day & Xmas. When he passed in '07, I wound up with only about 30 returned to me, his 2nd wife had given 60 or so to her worthless son, who immediately pawned them all. Such is Life.....:fire:

Nice work Tinman.........I like those push daggers too. Heres one that Bob Appleby made a few yrs ago. One of my favorites in my collection. Bob's dad shot that buck in 1975 I think...

Just a cool piece all the way around.

Cool! I've always been a fan of Push Daggers, and that's a nice looking one. I never tried making my own, but I do have a couple of the older CS push daggers.

Yea I love Hobo's but only have a few. I think I got them all for free also when we had Roundtables over at the Case forum. I always gave out custom knives I made so I got some good stuff in return. :)
