I used to own an Eagle Arms EA15 years ago and had to sell it when $$$ got tight. Well, money ain't as tight as it used to be so I'm looking for another AR15.

I want my AR exactly like my EA15: exactly like the M16A2, except semi auto. A2 sights, stock and chromed 20" 1:7 barrel.

Seems like everything now is A3/A4 uppers, 16" barrels and 1:9 twists.

Is there anyone making an honest A2 clone anymore???

The real military M16A2 (and everything since then) is a 1:7 twist. The 1:7 seems to cost extra from most manufacturers, and may or may not really matter for most civilian shooters who are looking for a range gun.

Take a look at Bravo Company, CMMG, Global Tactical, and Sabre Defence. All of those offer a variety of 1:7 twists. In addition, Bushmaster sometimes has overruns of 1:7 20" Gov't profile barrels, so you might check them as well.

If you still have trouble finding an A2 receiver, drop me a PM. I've got a spare that I've been thinking about selling off.

CMMG A2 upper, 20" chrome lined, 1:7, 5.56mm
Basically a civilian M16A2. $850 shipped.

Pete

I know how you feel, but there are solutions to your problem out there. I prefer the carbine length, but other than that, I want a solid A2 style stock, the round rail-free handguards and iron sights. Luckily, Bushmaster makes the exact model I want, so thats what I own.
