I think that I am going nuts.

I have recently been posting on a thread over at AR15.com, and I find it incredible that stating the simple fact that theft from the pockets of American taxpayers is wrong has caused me all manner of abuse.

Help me out. Take a look at the thread, and then let me know what you think.

I generally like AR15.com, but there are a significant number of 'wannabe' military types - including quite a few very young, immature service men. There are some really good folks over there - none of them responded to your posts. I agree with your position - and I am certain they would too. I personnally don't care what a 18 or 19 y/o PVT or SP4 thinks (of course some might be older, but their opinions still suck). Myself, I tend to read more than post on several forums, since there are a large number of people with perspectives and point of views I don't agree with. Getting into a pissing contest with them doesn't get anywhere :) this is the Internet afterall. If you ever get the oportunity to go face to face with some of these morons (and I have) they back down real quick - particularly those that are in the service. Trust me, sooner or later the little punk ass thief will get caught and get what he deserves. I am also sure some of the regulars over there that are decent folks will chip in sooner or later.

systema, I agree with you. Some things are right and some things are wrong, that's what gives us integrity or honor, despite what others do or even if everybody else thinks something is OK to do. Just because we can get away with something doesn't make it right, even if it's a small thing like stealing magazines, or being inconsiderate of others in traffic.

There is nothing more annoying then someone in the military or someone who served using their service to make themselves look more credible. Or make someone else seem less credible because they didnt. Your right and they are wrong regardless if they are active duty or had served. Service in the military does not preclude you from the rules of our society.

Sometimes you've just got to take comfort in being right...and you are. When something like that goes on as long as it has, and is accepted by so many, it becomes justified in their minds. AR15.com is a great place to learn about black rifles....that's about it. It's kinda like a heavily armed high school...or reform school maybe.
