I would go with the Arsenal. I'm not a big fan of the reverse forward grip on the AMD-65 and the wire stock really doesn't give much of a cheek weld. Also, I would imagine that being a "non standard" AK that replacement stocks and fore ends would be a bit more difficult to find if you wanted to change out anything.
If you go with the Arsenal, I think you will get a better build quality and you will have either a full stock or a very well designed folding stock that is probably one of the best out there.

I didn't vote as I only own an AMD-65 and have never shot an arsenal. Is 800$ a good price for one because my lgs has one for 829$ That I've been looking at.
Although at half the price you could buy the amd and lots of ammo.

My buddy just bought an Aresenal SGL-21 from the Scottsdale Gun Club today for 699. Very well put together and Arsenal has reputation as being one of, if not the best AKs you can get.

I bought an arsenal and have only one thing bad to say about it, the sights were canted to one side. It was one of the last with the milled receivers, very well made rifle. I have heard good things about their current production as well. Oh, the sights were fixed and it shoots well.

Arsenal. I had been considering an AMD 65 as frankly an Arsenal isn't in my budget at the moment, I decided in the end that it would be worth postponing the purchase of an AK until I could get exactly what I was looking for...the AMD 65's non-standard parts made me a bit leary though they are in general supposed to be pretty decent.
I've got an AMD-65 and I love it. It is just as accurate as most AKs and it is something different. I've never had an issue finding parts or anything and overall I enjoy shooting it to say the least.
Always get plenty of looks for it though since it is loud

Depends on your use. As a general purpose carbine the Arsenal. If you want a fun range toy get the AMD-65.
