Arsenal AK-47 AMD-63-2 feedback???

Hello all,

I recently purchased an Arsenal USA AMD-63-2 for $550. Came with some free ammo, 30 round mag, manual, folder stock.

I know little to nothing about AKs and I could find around my area was.....

- $350 Romanian AKs at gun, fit and finish was poor

- $550 Ohio Rapid Fire modified Romanian AKs, fit and finish was a little better but not much

But then I came across the Arsenal USA AMD-63-2 yesterday and bought it thinking it was an extremely good deal. Everything I read about Arsenal AKs was that they are definately the higher end stuff.

Anyways, any feedback on the Arsenal USA AMD-63-2 would be greatly appreciated! Was it a good deal? what is the avg. cost of one? how is the quality and reliability of it?

FYI Arsenal USA is NOT the same company as Arsenal Inc. Arsenal Inc is what people mean when they say 'Arsenal'. Arsenal USA is also known as Global trades. They make good receivers, and their builds are decent. I dont know if they actually built yours, or if it was just built by someone on one of their receivers. If it works ok it doesnt really matter.

I'm not sure what the going price for an AMD is, but pretty much every place out there prices any build at 450-500+, so its not far from the average. AMDs should be cheaper than others, because the parts kits were dirt cheap at one time, like $80 (compared with romanians at about $100, or bulgarians at around $200). 'Should' and 'are' isnt the same thing though.

Arsenal USA is the US branch of Arsenal Inc. Arsenal doesnt make AMDs as far as I know.

hey all,

yeah, I just got the info from another forum that mine is not an Arsenal Inc. but an Arsenal USA, which is a little disappointing, BUT not too much cuase from what I am told, it is still a pretty solid AK.

Will be shooting in a couple of weeks and will report on results
