Ammo box crush weight?

Anyone with some experience stacking large, inexpensive plastic ammo boxes like the Harbor Freight box?

Figure 30 lbs per box. Can I stack them two high? Three high?

If you can sit on them -- which you can -- I would think three high should be OK.

Will they deform over time?

Those look pretty sturdy. If you can sit on them they should be strong enough to stack 3 high. Just a guess, as I have not seen one in person.

I have quite a few of the 30 cal plastic boxes and full of brass they can be stacked 5 high at least. No experience with that particular one tho, sorry.

I have stacked regular GI fat 50 cans fully loaded, 6 high and the gasket on the bottom can was distorted. Now 3 high is the max for me...

I prefer cubby hole storage by far to stacked. As it’s easy to get to the desired container. Stacked, it doesn’t matter what I want, it’s always in the bottom container. They also eliminate the crush weight problem.

If you buy the steel boxes you can park your car on top of them. LOL
