OMG I better run as fast as I can to the corner payday lending store, get a month's advance and RUSH to wally world and wipe 'em out!:neener:

Funny how two months ago the Local Gun Store said "AMMO IS GOING UP THE FIRST OF THE MONTH!!!" Well it has been two months and I have not seen the ammo go up yet. But guarantee if we keep freaking out it will eventually go up. But to be honest, with the gas prices going up this much, EVERYTHING WILL BE GOING UP!!!

This is the earliest april fools joke so far this year.

I re-load everything and shoot lead cast bullets since their the cheapest.

All I see is falling prices as dealers and manufacturers with excess inventory tries to get rid of it.

So, apparently ammo prices are going up April 1st due to copper shortages, which means shooting will be more expensive than ever. I've been considering getting a press forever, but I just can't justify the time effort and cost right now to go ahead and do it.

So what are you guys doing? Hand-loading more? Buying huge bulk now? I actually setup a website for myself to do live ammo-price scanning at ammoscanner.com, and there are other sites that do the same thing but aren't real time or require users to put in info.

I'm wondering if it's worth it to buy a huge bulk right now and sell to my friends when they run out...

P.S:
I'd really like feedback on the site via PM or at the contact link on the site. I've made it my side project for now, and working on it is pretty fun.
I'm buying bulk, I usually get my ammo from the Sportsman's Guide®. Right now they got Russian 45acp for $75(250RDS), .22LR $.04¢ per round, and Nobel Sport 00buck $151(250RDS). If you join there club you get better savings! I'm always getting $5/$10 coupons, and free shipping. The deal now is spend $99, and get a free $25 gift card! Plus you have an option to make 4 equal payments; on credit card orders over $150. This is one company I firmly believe is the best out there.

I have no idea if prices are going up in April or December. I continue to buy as either I can or I need it. What will be will be.....

Well I heard ammo prices are going to go up tomorrow so you bette do all your panic buying a day early.

Or wait, was it.....no....right.....it was yesterday. Quick start getting more ammo and reloading compenents starting yesterday.

Got some more lead waiting for me in Phoenix when I get up there. Fire up the pot, and get to casting, got primers and powder for quite a while, thanks.

Ammo is going up in price April 1st? Says who?

Making such a statement without any proof to back up such claims is exactly what causes ammo prices to go up, due to unsubstantiated rumors and panic buying.

Good news guys, they just discovered that California is actually one giant copper deposit, and directly below the copper is billions of gallons of crude oil. They plan to use California as a giant industrial area, it's state government and law body are going to be disassembled and it's citizens relocated. Experts say gas will be down to a nickel a gallon, ammo will drop incredibly, oh and there's going to be a lot of tobacco farms, now that the tobacco taxes have been removed. Smokes are .25 cents a pack again.

Do not panic. I think we all learned what panics do when people feared Obama would take away guns and ammo. Prices soared through the roof and people hoarded everything. Just continue doing things as normal. Do not drive the demand up so high that the supply dwindles and stores gouge us.

Fools Day. Means fools will be doing stupid things like raising ammo prices. Seems fitting.

All probable. Doesn't change the fact that I am going to continue reloading because I enjoy the technical aspects of a challenge like this and because my cost is substantially less than any equal products. When I load lead rounds the cost of WWB is not much different but I can control quite a few factors with powder type, OAL, and crimp and build according to the gun I am shooting. (Carbine vs pistol, both 9mm). Things you can't do with commercially loaded ammo. I can also load 9mm 115 gr for a .380 with great results which means less mix and more match. However, when you load JHP rounds which have a better ballistic coefficient than LRN's, then you have to compare the cost of commercial JHP's with your reloads. The cost difference is significant.

What I'm not going to do is freak out and blown my gas bill money on cases of WWB in every caliber they make...so what, it's going up a buck? News flash: over time, stuff costs more. BTW, my Wal-mart is stocked full, I just bought a box of Federal .40 tonight (one box, yes) for $14.99.

I'm going to build a spent bullet recovery machine and travel to all the ranges, dig thru their berms and recycle all the lead and copper... what do you think, that should drive the ammo prices down even more, especially now that discovered that extra tonnage of copper in Peru.

Guess what, gas is going up too...gasp.....

Can anybody explain why it matters if ammo goes up 10%?

Ammo prices have been going up since the first time a caveman picked up a rock to throw it at someone. It's will be going up Apr 1st, May 1st, June 1st July 1st, etc etc etc We can count on it.
