Are these prices fair?

Federal American Eagle 9mm 115gr FMJ @ $14.92 per box of 50rds

Federal Amercian Eagle .45auto 230gr FMJ @ $20.16 per box of 50rds

WWB 9mm 115gr FMJ 100 rd bulk pack @ $28.23

Winchester Super-X .38 special 148gr Wadcutters @ $12.10 per box of 50rds

Fiocchi 95gr .380 ACP FMJ @ $14.13 per box of 50rds

9mm Geco Action BAT @ $12.10 per box of 50rds

The 'just' or fair price is what the market will bear, provided both parties are willing to transact at that price without duress.

Just be glad you don't shoot benchrest; we pay those prices for 22lr top quality ammo.

Being this is right after an election with the panic buying going on, I think those are good prices. They are what I would expect to pay all the time from a LGS unless he has them on special. Look normal to me.

Those are pretty average prices.

Careful shopping might beat a few of those by a dollar or two, but not likely more than that.

I think the Blitz Action Trauma Geco is like $2+ a shot so by my math, that's a good deal.
You should buy as much of that as you can at that price and retire.

Good prices on the .38, .380 and the BAT. The rest can be had at wal-mart for less, if you live near a wal-mart that does not get cleaned out by panic buyers everyday.

I bought 10 boxes of 50Rd Blazer Brass 9 mm 115 FMJ yesterday at LGS. Price was $9.99 ea.

If those are online prices, don't forget to include the shipping costs. I always find cheaper ammo online, but in the amounts I buy, it ends up more or less the same cost at Wally World as LuckGunner when you include shipping.

I reload almost everything I shoot, except 22 of course, but I check the ammo prices at Wal Mart every week or two. Off hand those prices seem a couple dollars high.

But then I saw 22 bulk packs went up another dollar again in the last few weeks.

I was pricing 45acp ammo at Cabelas and it sounds right.

Unbelievable pricing even for 22lr at about 21 or 22 for a box of 550. Didn't occur to me that the price would be that high. Until I read the posts concerning post-election panic buying.

But I have just returned to reloading. I guess I will wait on the 22's for a while.

.22LR bulk at Walmart actually bumped up to $21-ish/550 in my area quite awhile ago.

For checking prices on mail order ammo there are a number of search tools. This is the one I use.

clarifications

These prices are for a retail only LGS. The crusty old dude that runs it is a luddite that does barely maintains a email account.

Next, his policy is that there must be a minimum purchase of at least 500 rounds per brand and caliber before these prices are offerred. Small batch purchases are charged a higher price.

Thirdly, he does not provide any delivery services. Strictly cash and carry only. When I visited him recently, I left the store with a military rucksack straining at the seams, containing 1000 rounds of .45 ammo on my back. The cabdriver in the taxi I rode back home noticed the american eagle brand on a box peeking out the top of my back pack and joking asked me whether I was a private military contractor off to wage war on some 3rd world country. :)

Fourthy, the GECO Action BAT is actually the latest incarnation of the ammo. The boxes are actually labelled "Sintox Action 1 - 73gr, Made in Switzerland".

Lastly, the LGS is in a South East Asian country where I am based.

Are these prices fair?

Federal Amercian Eagle .45auto 230gr FMJ @ $20.16 per box of 50rds

Brass ~$18 for 100 / $9 for 50
FMJ 230 gr. bullets ~$22 for 100 / $11 for 50 (I would get HP at that price)
Primers ~ $3 for 100 / $1.50 for 50
Power ~ $1.50 for 50 ???

Considering that buying new components would cost as much as the already assembeled finished product, I would say that's a "fair" ;) price.

The 38 special and 380 prices are very good, the 9mm and 45 acp my LGS has for a couple dollars less per box.

I'd remind him that you'd like to support his business, but Wal Mart sells the exact same ammo for a bit less with no "minimum quantity".

Federal American Eagle 9mm 115gr FMJ @ $14.92 per box of 50rds

Federal Amercian Eagle .45auto 230gr FMJ @ $20.16 per box of 50rds

WWB 9mm 115gr FMJ 100 rd bulk pack @ $28.23

Wally world here sells these items at $11.98, $16.98 and $22.97 respectively. The 100 round packs of the Federal go for $19.97.
