picked up 900rds of 9mm the other weekend from walmart. $10/box. Yes they have the 6 box max.... but they had 9 in stock for 3 days in a row.... so I got 300/day.

I still laugh at people buying 9/40/45 at gunshows for $30/box.... People are buying, not shooting. That means that people have a 1,000-2,000rd stockpile for their 9 or 45 now and are looking at those $30-$45 /box prices and saying "I think i have enough for now".... it just took a while for the majority of people, who really cared about having ammo in hand, to reach that point where paying 3x the regular price became nuts.

I told my buddy in January that the ammo would be well-stocked by December, and to not buy in 9 @ $25-$35 /box.... looks like it's starting to come around sooner than i expected.

The only ammo i bought at a slightly inflated price, was 2 boxes of .380 for $17/box.... Up from the $13/box I was paying pre-bama... Oh well.

Sure cant prove it here in Wyoming, bulk .22 is impossible as is most centerfire handgun, unless you want to go to the gunshow and pay $35.00 for a box of Walmart bulk .22 and over a dollar a round for the rest. Nothing has changed here at all.

Bass Pro here is good for bullets, brass, and quite a bit of powder. Loaded ammo is getting better. Still no primers tho.

Here in Oregon the ammo flows like water,at least in my little corner of it. Luckly I never had to endure a shortage or put up with insane prices. My ammo comes from friends that need never worry about things like a shortage or bans for example. Its good to have friends, and I'm always looking for more...

I can travel 40 miles and Wally mart is stocked with 9 and 40. I think @ $10 for Blazer. Other than shotgun shells, all else is naked. I'm thinking a few thousand rounds of 12 gauge aint lookin' bad for a few weekends of skeet until the shelves are semi stocked.

Powder, check. Bullets, so-so. Primers, not in the foreseeable future.

FINALLY got some primers locally, powder is still scarce, and bricks of .22's scarcer yet.Ammo is coming available as are rifle bullets for the reloaders.

Wally World in central Texas has Federal 550 bulk packs........only up $2 to $15.47.............but had been OUT for about a month.

Things have been looking up in my area; just yesterday at the Wal I picked up some 9mm 115gr. Federal Champion @ $8.97 per 50. pretty happy with that price :D

Always bare shelves in the two Wally Worlds near me (Tampa suburbs area) for popuar calibers. LGS's do have plenty in stock, but prices, while dropping slightly, still not great. I can find better bulk deals on Gunbroker....so that's what I do.

My definition of the crisis being 'over' will be when I can walk into Walmart at any time of day and pick up a couple of hundred round box of 9mm WWB. I don't have time for all that staking out Walmart for deliveries crap, so it'll only be normal to me when I can once again buy as a commodity at any time of day.

In CA at the stores, rifle ammo is easy to get. Handgun ammo is still very hard including 22 LR. Mail/internet order places are starting to easy up on 9 mm, 45 ACP, and 22 LR.

Wal Mart shelves in my area are still bare as far as handgun ammo. Looking for 9MM and 38SP. No luck in about 8 weeks. Did see 2 boxes of 40S&W on one of those 20 visits. Too bad it wasn't on my list.

I've been on a search for a few weeks now for some 38 Special, all I can find is WWB +P defensive loads. I've looked at several Walmarts, Dick's, and some local shops, no luck.

Still about like hen's teeth in my part of the world. I did see five boxes of bulk pack Rem Golden Bullets in a WalMart about 100 miles west of here a couple of weeks ago. Only $18 a box.

My closest wal-mart(we have three super centers in the area) has atleast one box of the major calibers. They have around:

~500+ rounds of .223
~2000+ rounds of 9mm
~300 rounds of 40 smith
50 rounds of 45 acp
50 rounds of 25 auto
50 rounds of 32 auto
~1-200 of .357 mag

All the common hunting calibers are decently stocked as well as shotty shells.

all local wal-marts, pawn shops, and flea markets included for a 6 county radius of my home only have .40 and 9mm. No .38 other than 20 golddot or buffalo bore, no 44, 45, 357...in small stuff no 380, 32 ect. Still sucks and prices are still double what they were a year ago on items in stock.

Just stopped by my local gunshop (I'm lucky enough to have a good one) this morning, and he said things are just starting to get a little better with the ammo shortage.

His shelves had a few gaps, but he had a pretty good spread of ammo.

I bought a box (50) of Fiocchi 9mm JHP for 21 bucks. That seems fairly good to me. He had about ten boxes of it, but I've been well-stocked for many months and didn't really need it anyhow.

I stay away from Wal-Mart 99% of the time......only go there if I can't find whatever product I need at a local, normal store. I really hate Wal-Mart and I would REALLY miss my local gunshop if if went out of business.

I think he's been doing ok, but I was surprised to find only one other customer in the shop. The place is usually busier than that.

Hey guys, here's a heads up, it may not help everyone or even be possible for some, but i ran into the same problem many of you have, not being able to find or buy ammo at the sporting goods, walmart, internet.
I called my local gun shop/ range( they know me) and they without any issue agreed to sell me what ever ammo i wanted ,right out of there range stock, to take home and store.
Iv'e recently bought several hundred 38 special for 15$ a box, 357s for 21$ and 9mm for about 16$ all 50 round boxes( not reloads) about 600 rounds total, and im not done.
So maybe it wouldnt hurt to ask you never know they might just say yes.

Frankie, if it was FMJ that does not surprise me, but JHP and SWC ammo seems to be harder to find and more expensive.

Take a look at Natchez and Cheaper Than Dirt for example.
