Saw a box of .40 S&W (that wasn't $30/50rds) for the first time 6 months today! It's like seeing the first bird of spring. Maybe this ammo shortage is coming to an end. Have any of you guys been seeing more ammo around town?

40 is the only thing I usually see on the shelves, Wal Marts here have tons of 40 and nothing else.

No, 3 walmarts have no ammo, academy is really low on handgun stuff but their rifle selection has improved still no 7.62x39.

Birdmang, I agree completely. Fortunately places like wallyworld and bi-mart (NW chain) don't jack their prices up to match demand like the pawn shops do. I got 100 JHP for $32.

saw three boxes of 9mm luger @ wally world, and 2 .45acp.I went to get a worker (never anyone in that department),gone two minutes, and the damn ammo trolls took off with ALL the ammo:fire::fire:..........H

Local Wally-World's have a little .40 S&W, some Fed rifle ammo and nothing else. Haven't see a .22lr bulk pack in 6 months. Can't remember when I saw any .45 ACP.9mm, .380ACP, .38spl or .357 mag. Local Sportsmans Warehouse is closing it's doors July 31. Nobody in this area has primers, powder, or bullets. Shotage is not ending, just getting worse.

=1 on wally having lots of 40 and 9mm. One near me in Austin is not one of the better hunting/fishing depts of their chain around Austin but has seen a tremendous influx (compared to previous months) of Blazer 40 and 9mm. A veritable s--t-ton of 9mm; so much so I've considered getting one and a 40 just to take advantage. Even some Blazer 45 lately which I had NEVER seen before at this store. And, for the first time, more .22 than can fly off the shelves in a day (granted it's that Remi golden 550-pak crap but it's plentifil and cheap). The CCI and Fed still flies off the shelf when it comes in though.

WallyWorld stalkers: go in after 8 on a Sunday night!

The 'ammo shortage' will be over for ME when I see some bricks of .22's showing up again, along with reloading components.
Glad you non reloaders are finding ammo tho,it does mean things are getting better.

I hear ya. Here in SE Washington, we have a good supply of ammo. We even have boxes of 380 auto, would you beleive that? Months ago, when I saw 9mm ammo, I bought boxes of them, even if I didn't need them.

I was also able to pick up 2 14oz bottles of 700x powder yesterday. Maybe things are just getting better around the NW.

Isn't going in and buying the limit just fueling the craze even more?

IMO that limits being at 2-6 boxes depending where you are looking won't have the desired effects that we are looking for to begin with. It's just a ploy to keep us thinking there is a need to ration, and not attack the manufactures who must start making more ammo.

With rise in gun sales, I don't see how they can't tool up and trust the demand would be stable with this increase.

Yeah? In Richland? How about defensive ammo in .32 & .380? Like Gold Dots or Silvertips. If it's there, I may have to take a little drive.

Ammunition isn't flying off the shelves as fast as it has been, no. Around here you can usually find rounds at a halfway decent price a couple days after ammo delivery to the stores, instead of hoping to get there at the same time as the delivery to scoop stuff. I do sometimes still see people hoarding though.

I'm just looking for more .40 and .38 for range trips.

I spotted (and bought) a 50-round box of Remington .380 FMJ last night at a WallyWorld, the first .380 of any stripe I've seen in my neck of the woods since December. It was priced at $15.95. The store also had four 100-round boxes of Winchester WB 9mm at $19.95 each -- another miracle. Things are looking up.

Mine gets it every Sunday night now! The guys with gunstores are sending their wives in to pick up as much as they can get. Thankfully they got rationed and now they cant strip the store clean anymore.
