NO components are available. Absolutely NONE. NO 9mm brass. NO bullets. NO powder. NO primers. A case of 5.56 ammo is $900.00 when you can find it. The FED has deprived us of the use of our guns, thus effectively "banning" them. "They" have won. Ammo availability and reasonable pricing is a thing of the past. The good ol' days are over. Expect the FEMA trucks soon enough.... And yes, i'm being dead serious :banghead:

Funny, I bought 1k 9mm bullets from Montanna Gold just the other day. Also picked 5k SPP from local shop a few days ago. They also had .223 for 49 cents around. Plenty of ammo around here.

LOL!

Oh...kay! Maybe those of us who are picking up stuff every week these days just aren't letting you in on it!

This reminds me of a few years back when someone came up with the greatest circular conspiracy theory ever: Obama didn't want the citizens to have guns and ammo, so he tricked us all into buying guns and ammo in record quantities, so then, once we'd bought ALL the ammo and guns, there wouldn't be as many guns or as much ammo to buy, so by making us buy guns and ammo, he was keeping us from being able to buy guns and ammo ... and around and around we go! :)

...

And I thought the "good ol' days" were over in 1994, ... wait, no it was 1986. No no. 1968? Well, not really -- it was really 1934 when the good ol' days died! But no... what about, you know really it was more like 1803! But then, 1791 was kind of bad for liberty ... you know what? I think the good ol' days have ALWAYS been over! :D

just gotta ask around and keep your eyes open. Cabelas has a buttload of 5.56 for $12/20. .40, a whole shelf full, $18/50. x39 $6.99 a box.

I actually got a brick of .22 yesterday there... sheer luck that I saw someone walking away from the counter with one. asked the guy, he plunks it on the counter and says "well, that went quick!"

I've bought 5K 9mm bullets (4K from MBC, took 8 weeks, 1K from berrys, no wait) in the past month. No spp but I'm using spm for a while. Put in an order from MBC and wait... they'll get to it.

Do you have anything to trade locally? people will trade primers if they have extra and you have what they need.

Gander Mountain just opened a new hunting/shooting store the next county over. I know two men who bought 9mm at reasonable prices. One bought 1000 rounds and the other 350 rounds. My friend who went there said he'd never seen so many guns in one place - more even than at a gun show. I guess it depends on where you are and how much you can spend.

Yeah, actually the market around my area has been a bit more forgiving. I can find everything Cept .22ammo, but now powders and primers arnt that hard to find. Primers are plain easy if you don't mind spending a little bit

I'm glad things are going so well for y'all. I cant get anything, online or otherwise. A local pawn shop is selling Wolf .223 for a dollar a shot! I live in the rural south. I think y'all are either lying, or i am unlucky enough to live where they're impleminting "The New Way" first.

My 3250 LR rounds arrived this week. More and more components are in stock every week lately. Yea, many things are still a bit scarce, but they are coming in, they're just getting bought as fast as they do.

Sounds a little chicken little like to me. :)

My LGS has reloading supplies. Factory loaded ammo is another story. They have quite a bit of standard rifle caliber ammo, but 5.56 and 7.62x51 are outrageous there. I actually seen the invoice and they are having to pay their distributor way more for everything....

In response, I will give the condensed version of a post I recently made on Facebook, after working the recent gun show in Syracuse, NY.

THERE IS NO NATIONWIDE SHORTAGE OF AMMUNITION. PEOPLE ARE BUYING IT TO RE-SELL. If I had wanted it and could afford it, I could have taken home more ammunition than I could shoot in 30 YEARS.

Bottom line, you gotta pay to play. Stop complaining that there's no ammo, get off your butt, AND PUT THE WORK INTO FINDING IT.

hit wally world as soon as they open... everyday

and you will find it, eventually. I picked up 3 100 count boxes CCI Speer MAXI mag for 7.49 each early in the week. I then picked up 3 boxes of federal 325 count 22 for 14.47 each. I went back in 15 minutes later, after shift change, and picked up 3 boxes federal 9mm for 13.50 each. I also got another customer to pick up two more boxes for me. Ammo is tight up here in Maine but it can be found.

I can sympathize in not being able to find supply, but it is out there...last week on a road trip I stopped at every Wal-Mart and Dick's within 4 miles of my route. I ended up doing a lot of wheel-spinning but I did score 300 rounds of 9mm at one WalMart. Ammo is out there but it is being hoarded/flipped.

Has the Internet reached your hollar yet?

Yep. My local shop was walking around to everybody making sure we knew they had cases of 308 for sale at reasonable prices yesterday when I stopped by. This is a shooting range more than its a store so they don't usually have a bunch of ammo anyways

The local Academy here has 7.62 X 39 and 5.56mm in stock for $6/20 - Russian made. They also had Winchester 7.62 X 39 for $16/20. Still limited to one box per day though. Don't believe me? Here's the receipt:

If you want ammo, this place has plenty in stock: http://www.ableammo.com

Its not cheap but they have it. They list Tulammo 5.56 for $15.00/20, I paid $5.99/20 at Academy. Same with 7.62 X 39: they list for $10.99/20, I paid $5.99/20 at Academy. They also have plenty of 9mm in stock ranging from the low $20s to over $45 for 50 rounds.

Guns and Ammo

I dropped into my LGS in Martinez, Ca. last week. About 20 overpriced A.R.'s and a fair amount of overpriced ammo. I expect there will be a sale soon!

Thanks for all the advice/recommendations everyone. I get upset easily. Maybe things will settle down in the coming months. I just expected things to return to normal quickly with the defeat of the "assault" weapons ban.

Give a state and an area and I'm sure someone can point you to someplace that's got something. Heck, if you look at Queen of Thunder's thread (http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=716091), she's now swimming in ammo!
I wouldn't say we are swimming in ammo but if you are willing to join us in the early morning if you are in our area you will over time get some ammo. Probably won't get as much as you what as you are limited to one box per caliber with a max of 3 calibers per day but over time it does add up.

The ammo is out there but you have to work hard at it to get what you need. You can point your fingers at others, call them names and blame them as the reason you don't have ammo or you can suck it up and start working at it to get ammo. Its your choice. You can either cry, whine and blame others or you can get to work at getting the ammo you need.

My wife's 4 boxes of .38 special ball arrived today.

I'm set for .45acp and .223/5.56 for quite some time.

Going to the range with her Monday; she loves to shoot .38s, but not my .45 (XDS)
