The sun was out, everyone had left the ranch so I decided to make some noise. Neglected for.a fair time I took the Ruger PCC down to the range. I've had thoughts of "why did I buy this" lately, today I remembered why. I opened up the Ruger pack and assembled the carbine, loaded 50 rounds of 147gr in 3 mags, looked in the Romeo 5 and had fine time emptying them. To have an accurate take down carbine which fits in a backpack/case,with room for 4 mags,2 50 rounds boxes of 9 (or bipod) and sling etc,all in a non suss wrapper,is a very handy and useful item to have around.....I think I'll hang on to it.

Ruger PCC is a winner. Mine has lots of trouble free rounds down the tube. Everyone in my family can shoot it and we can use the 10/22 as a trainer. Ruger did good with this one. I am glad you enjoyed your rifle today and got to spend some time shooting!

The Ruger PC 9 is of the few gun buys where I bought one, let a friend shoot it and he bought one, I let another friend shoot it and he bought one, etc.

I just popped a Bushnell TRL-25 on it and had it all sighted in an inch high at 25 yards (all the range I had) with WWB 124 gr fmj in under ten shots. :)

My lgs has a 9mm for under $600 I'm trying to justify buying it.

Hi Troy, If you approach it like I stated above,I think you would like it,especially if you have a Glock because you can use their mags. It is a good "in-between" firearm which lets you reach out to 75 yard with accuracy.....Which I certainly can't do with a pistol

I already like the gun, it's more about ammo cost and the guns usefulness, I can do the same with a 22 carbine. Plus if have to buy 10 round mags, whatever ones are cheaper.

I like your gun and like PCC rifles also. I don't have the Ruger but I do have a Marlin Camp Carbine along with Marlins in 357 and 44 mag. I have shot the 9mm out to 200 yards and after you get the range its easy to get hits at that range that you can keep in an area the size of a mans chest. I like your red dot sight Riomouse911. I have been looking for one I could mount on my 9mm carbine or the 357 without spending a fortune for one.

If I ever find a deal on a Ruger take down I will buy it. I think Troy Fairweather should get the one he found at the store. Sounds like a fair deal and those come along often enough anymore.

I really enjoy mine. It's accurate enough and capable of taking deer at 100yds if I should need to, plus fits in a back pack.

I have been a BIG fan of the PCC for many decades. Had one of the original Rugers along with almost everything else. When these hit it was one of the few times I started watching the auction to get one instead of waiting. When one place had one at $525 I could no longer wait. It has become my top favorite of the 6 PCC's I currently have. Bought a few TLR-25's just because they are so cheap and work. My now aging eyes really like dots. I found some quick mounts that shocked me for less than $10 as they work. I can pop one of the dots from gun to gun and damn things hold zero quite well. Put a light / laser on the little Ruger as a "around the house" gun too. They did good on these. If they offer it in 10mm I will again be watching the auction for one of those.

Thats what I think. a very good HD gun. Low recoil. Low flash and low muzzle blast. I forgot about it but I also own a Hi-Point 9mm. The best gun I ever bought for $165 bucks.
Yep, they get a LOT of hate but I have LONG liked the PCC as a "around the home" gun. I was not a fan of the 9mm until decades ago when I bought one for Wife since she is super sensitive to recoil. Then found that with good ammo the 9mm moves at what a .357 does from a 4inch wheel gun when coming out of a 16 inch tube. I started looking at it in a whole new light. Wife can handle the Ruger, likes to play with it, so can be very accurate. With 33 round "happy sticks" makes one hell of a nice home gun.
The High Points when I first started seeing them were less that $150. I was just sure they had to be junk till a buddy bought one. Back when they looked like those rifles from the original Planet of The Apes movie. Damned little gun just worked. Only real down side was the damn proprietary mags but the rifles were one hell of a lot of bang for your buck and still are.

They are but there are so many fakes there off my list to recommend. The trs-25
Sadly that’s true with just about every optic, you have to be wary of the seller and look at your new one closely when you get it.

Leupold scopes are faked so often they have a full web page and phone number to call if you want to check if a scope you have is authentic:

Yep, with such a HUGE portion of our manufacturing done in China there seems to be fakes of anything that sells. Makes sense, the temptation is great. Its why as much as I dislike what he does with my money I like shopping with Jeff. If I get something and there is any problem I just get my money back or a replacement. I certainly would not go to "battle" with these cheap dot scopes but, the oldest one I have I have had so long I do not remember when I bought it. Damn things just work and last. Same with the quick mounts I bought from Jeff. Damn things were like $10. Seem to work shockingly well. Again not something to take to battle but for my "fun" they work amazingly well. With my eyes any more a Dot on hand guns and long guns makes shooting SOOOO much more fun. At the indoor range I go to the lighting is such that I can't see the damn sights worth a crap any more. So I do some shooting with irons just to keep up. For fun slap a dot on whatever I am shooting and the groups look like they did when I was young and could see

Yes it's nice leupold can run the numbers but if China used a real number they can still come back as genuine. We for the trs my last fiasco I tried from 3 different places, first Amazon was fake, next was midway maybe $10-$15 more as well still fake but a good fake. Last was one I picked up in store at gander mountain before they closed, was a good fake. Couldn't get my money back since they closed so went to a friend little brother.

IMHO the Ruger PCC is not all that low recoil. I have a lever action 5.56 Browning that makes less recoil than my 9mm Ruger, while shooting a significantly more powerful cartridge. I wish Ruger made a new generation of PCC with a true delayed blowback system, which attenuated the recoil. It would also allow to lighten the gun significantly. Of course such a hypothetical Ruger Advanced PCC would cost a lot more, too, but such is life.

I guess I should have mentioned this was for indoor shooting. Wife has shot an AR and of course was very impressed by how easy it was to shoot. She was at one time looking for a small rifle in handgun caliber she could play with at the indoor range where an AR was out in .223. I bought a KT Sub2000 in 40 it was way too much for her. So next tried a 9mm version. That she could shoot but even that is at the limit for her because its so light. The Ruger, now that she can blast away several happy sticks and enjoy. Its the same with her and hand guns. I roll some very light loads in .45. Put a 16# spring in one of the 1911's and she will have a lot of fun. With full loads she will not shoot the GM 1911's even.
