About six months ago I set out to get a Detective Special while I could still afford one. I didn't want anything fancy, just a decent shooter grade for a reasonable price. I couldn't seem to find one that fit into my spending range when I happened upon an Official Police that I wasn't looking for. Then I came across a nice Model 12 that I also wasn't looking for. I learned two valuable lessons:
1) My will is weaker than I previously thought
2) It is not healthy on my budget to search the shelves for the "reasonably priced one"
I was able to resist a very nice Huntsman and Pocket Lite. Both were well worth the asking price, but my kids are already kinda skinny as it is. Oh well - I did get the Detective Special. Now I have three relatively inexpensive sporting guns with two of them also being mighty fine carry options.
