An Interesting Moment Today

I reviewed the county ordinance and there is no exemption for licensed conceal carry. It is my understanding that the county attorney is working on language to amend the ordinance and get it before the board of county commissioners. Im not going to hold my breath.
Any county ordinance is illegal by FL state law in attempt to regulate any facet of firearms. In Brevard, we're waiting on the legal-side to push an order to Parks and Recreation to correct this. If they do not, we go above the county and to the state to correct this. This same case has been won (corrected) in many counties and cities in FL. The law is clear.

These kind of dopey signs are cropping up more and more around East Tennessee. And, I'll say this on an anonymous (mostly) forum, I just ignore them. Should I ever get caught, and that's unlikely, I'll pay the fine.
I'd rather pay the fine a dozen times over a lifetime, than not have my snubbie the one time I need it.
I've read my Thomas Paine. Disobeying a law that is patently unjust doesn't make you a crook.

Tell that to the judge and he'll laugh at you while sentancing you. I doubt it will be a fine.

I too have the darndest time noticing 'stupid signs'.

Im kinda like that also, With signs i "No habla ingles".

As a side note my Family Doctor took down his "No Firearms" sign.
But my Pharmacy put a new one up that is State authorized as their old one wasn't compliant. I want to speak with the Pharmacy owner as i do know him and my family gives him ALOT of business, But i don't want to start having issues when i cant read his sign.

Hupp, two, three, four . . . .

(Sorry about that)
I understand that some people can't resist being "cute" in their postings, but the incident involving Suzanna Hupp as it relates to the OP is quite valid, and the massacre at the Luby's Cafeteria in Texas in the '90's has a lot to do with many people being allowed to carry a concealed firearm to protect themselves and their families.

For the posters making light of Dr. Hupp's name and/or Luby's, you need to go and read "From Luby's to the Legislature" and read how a madman rammed his truck into the front window of the cafeteria, calmly exited his vehicle and started executing restaurant patrons one by one as he walked through the room. Dr. Hupp had a firearm, but because it was illegal for her to carry in the restaurant, she locked it in her car. She witnessed her father's fatal shooting, and tried to help her mother escape. Unfortunately, her mother was executed at point-blank range while cradeling her dying husband's body. Dr. Hupp survived the massacre and made it her mission to get the laws in Texas changed so that the average citizen could carry a concealed handgun. We probably owe her not only our gratitude, but I believe some people's lives have and will be saved because of her efforts.

The original poster speculated that had he not been prohibited from carrying a weapon in the park, he might have been able to protect his family if the situation he found himself in had gotten worse. It was similar to the situation Dr. Hupp found herself in when she tried to abide by the laws in Texas.

Maybe some of our posters should consider what they are typing before they hit the submit button and show their hind ends to the rest of the world.

I can help myself....I know i am going to get flamed for this. I know, behavior like this is wrong etc etc but....

Somebody needs to shoot the sign!

I'll obey the sign when the vicious animals (on 2 or 4 legs) start obeying it.

Better to be asked to leave a park when a ranger with x-ray vision sees my gun, than to be carried by 6.
