Our own "feed the hogs" ordered 4 Ironwood knives from me, and about the same time "akluver" ordered another one. I'm really glad to be done with this stuff for now!

akluver liked my fighter but also like the 1/4" D2 I was making the Super Camps out of. So I suggested a 1/4" D2 Fighter and this thing really came out nice. Big and heavy, and very sharp:

5 1/2" Blade, 11 1/4" overall
1/4" D2 Tool Steel
Heat Treat by Paul bos
Mosaic pins

Then there's the flagship knife of feed the hog's order, a 6" Super Camp in Premium Ironwood:

I only had enough of this Ironwood for this one knife. It's the best I ever had and it's looks awesome on this baby. That mosaic pin was used on both of the above knives.

Here's the other 3 for feedthehog's order, the very first Landshark which I inscribed "#1", a B&T, and a Small Skinner:

Here's more of the Landshark, my new hunting knife - 3 3/4" blade and made of ATS-34 with Paul Bos heat treat:

I'm finishing 2 more Landsharks in Green Canvas Micarta right now and they should come out looking real nice. So whatcha think?

I have no doubt that Small Skinner will, no doubts at all.
What draws my attention, besides the craftsmanship, is the handle size, shape and comfortable, control and function in relation to blade size and shape.

I see this Small Skinner working quite well for a Bird & Trout , or Small Game knife as well.

:)

a collection so awe-inspiring even sm himself can't write his usual six pages on 'em.

Those are gorgeous. Is it inappropriate to ask how much any one (or all) of those cost?

Wait till you pick one up :D The long handle and small blade make it very controllable, plus the handle feels like it was made for my hand (and not just my hand either, several people have held it and said the same thing.)

That Landshark looks like a great all purpose hunting knife.

Pax, no problem! The Super Camp is $225, The Landshark is $200, the Small Skinner is $100 and the B&T is $125. Ironwood adds $30 to $50 per knife as it is expensive but most of the handle materials I use are included. My wife doesn't make sheaths anymore so I send them to Lifter's Leather and he does them for $45 each - I send 'em to him and he sends it to you! :)

Oops, forgot the Fighter, it would be $225 out of 3/16" ATS-34 or $250 out of 1/4" D2. Ironwood was $40 extra.

Ironwood Explosion

Very nice indeed.
Really like the scales on the "Land Shark"................

Just received the fighter today. I am in awe of the craftsmanship of this blade. Truly better than I ever imagined owning in my lifetime. I will definately say one thing, if you are thinking of taking the plunge- do it. I have never dealt with anyone as considerate and willing to go the extra mile than Don. The entire experience has truly been a pleasure and I am about to do it again, as soon as the new D2 comes in. Thanks again Don.

Can't wait, Jim! I got a load of new grinding belts today and when that steel gets here the steel dust will be flying!
