An old SIG-Sauer P220

I've got a 1989 West German P220 and a P220 ST that's about two years old. I don't buy the "older is better" argument, they both seem pretty top notch. Triggers are definitely superior on the newer guns, although I certainly appreciate the balance of the older guns more.

You're in good shape with an old P220.

I have an old heel release BDA in .45ACP. Awesome pistol I enjoy shooting.

Congratulations on being picked up by the way.

The pre-1994 guns had the slightly troublesome hammer return design, and there were rare reports of people easing the hammer down instead of decocking and the hammer didn't catch in detent and NDs resulted. In 1994 they changed to the plastic hammer return shroud and spring arrangement and the different hammer (Or so I was told by someone I thought knew his stuff). He also mentioned that in 1998 or so they started using the take-down lever with the bulge on the bottom (like the 239) to make it easier to swing it over than with the original flat one.
