Hi Folks,
I've been spending a lot of time reading the archives here and elsewhere on the web looking for info on gun safes. I was hoping I could run my use case by you all and get your opinion on what I'm planning. Why am I coming here? Because as far as I can tell, responsible gun owners are the leaders in RSC research.
So here's my situation:
My house has been broken into twice. In neither time were the thieves successful but it is obnoxious. I'm looking for an RSC to keep your average junky/teenager/house prowler out. If someone comes to my house with a plasma cutter, they can have whatever they want.
I also recognize that fire is also a risk I need to think about.
From a size perspective, a gun safe or a regular safe take up the same floor space so I'd rather just go bigger and get a full size gun safe. Something in a 30" wide x 60" tall profile.
So my requirements:
With all of that in mind and my reading here, I'm looking heavily at the AMSEC BF series gun safes.
I ruled out Sturdy Safe even though I love the look and simplicity because of the unproven fire liner. The UL rating on the AMSEC is appealing to me. It's frustrating that Sturdy chooses not to get their products UL rated.
Based on my reading here, Liberty safes look like a cheaper option but I'm worried about build quality. Fort Knox looks like a good but overpriced choice. Is there anyone else I should be considering?
If it matters, the safe will be surrounded by dry wall on 3 sides (gotta be able to open it!) and bolted to the floor.
Thanks for your help!

So my requirements:
- Made in the USA
- Quality construction
- "thick" steel on the door
- Fire protection
- electronic lock
- reasonable confidence it'll keep tweedle dee and tweedle dumb out
