Damn fine letter.

If Angel doesn't mind I'm taking a copy of it with me to the Republican Lubbock County Convention on the 27th of this month. As a delegate I think I can get it inserted into the minutes.

Hopefully I can take a copy with me to the State Convention this summer.
 
I like the letter as everyone else did but lets face it....It is really a meaningless threat. The text of the letter was great but the threat went no where. Letters like this are just empty threats. We all know that we arent going to vote for Kerry which means you will either try and make a pointless statement by voting libertarian or you will suck it up and vote for bush eventhough he has repeatedly screwed us. I hate to say it but I will take a partial screwing instead of the gang rape.
 
jeeper, that doesn't mean

that they see it that way. I think the Republican do see it that way--i.e., that we have no where else to go without it being a meaningless vote--but they have to hear from the groundswell gunnies how unhappy we are.

We gotta keep 'em worried--if they think we will bolt in a flash, it should lend more backbone to them not to rile us...which suggests an important instruction to Congressional leaders will be made--i.e., "don't even think you can let an AWB vote out of committee, even if it attached to the major funding bill/pork bill, etc.."
 
No one on the President's re-election committee will ever see the letter. If it was sent in the provided return envelop, it will be automatically opened, checked for a donation, and the rest discarded.

Even sent as certified mail, someone on the committee reading the letter would see the last couple of paragraphs as heated and disrespectful, and will likely discount the rest of the contents and throw it away.

Other than seeing Angel's crew on the same page as the many of us in these matters, the letter means little.
 
You have a choice, now have the courage. Vote Libertarian, cut the BUSHES out of the White house and send a message to both camps. One term or two?

Stop taking us for granted. We have the power. :cool:

Both Edwards and Dean had enough pro-freedom credibility to give voters like us a serious pause. Edwards came out in favor of "self defense" as a proper use of guns, Dean...well we know him from Vermont. Do they suck? Sure, but no worse than Dubya and he's so frightening on OTHER civil rights issues it's not even funny.

It's like...the Dems don't think there IS anybody at ALL concerned with basic personal freedom. Never mind guns - freedom.

Keeerist. This ain't good. It'll get either better or worse depending on Kerry's veep choice.

Another factor: Osama Yo Mama's boys will try and "pull a Spain" before November. How will WE react compared to the Spaniards?
 
Great letter, but did Bush even see it? Did any republican with any clout to speak of see it? I hope so, but I doubt it. Hopefully we'll catch the smelly terrorists who try to "pull a Spain." If not, I'd like to think that we have more balls than to piss ourselves, run to the polls and cast a safety vote.

Whew! That was bold, brutally honest and straight up the middle. Other RKBA organizations could stand to take a few lessons on open political warfare. Guess I'll surf over there and renew my membership. :D
 
You want Angel's letter seen? Then keep discussing it here. Give it bandwidth. Post it elsewhere if you can. Print it out and hang it on a wall. Nail it to every lamppost you can find. Personally, I've emailed it to the Whitehouse, the Chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party, the Chairman of the national party and every republican I know...

The former Chairman of the NC Repub party is a friend of mine. I'll be giving him a call on Monday.

If they use backpack or car bombs... that's one thing (as horrible as it is)...
If they use evil black semi-automatic rifles w/ detachable magazines or even FULLY automatic rifles brought in from off-shore... you know what'll happen. Short sighted knee jerk reaction.

HooRah to Angel's letter, fine words. Words are fine... but politicians are bought with $ and listen to the sound of green waaaaay more than mere finely wrought words.

Words mean nothing to (most of) them, as they use them all of the time and some of their words are even truthful, once in a while. :scrutiny:

Money, however, means everything to them as it keeps them in office or lets them retire gracefully to a gov't consulting golden parachute type of employment post politics.

And as others have pointed out, unless the politician in question's Chief of Staff opens the letters, the message will never get to the eyes & ears we'd like it to.

Look to the Senate and Congress races as well this fall. Remember March 2.

Can someone please clone about 30 more Larry Craig or Zell Miller types, please? :)
 
RocketMan, HBK, falling block, et al - Your concerns are valid. This doesn't do much good if nobody who "matters" ever sees the letter.

KABA is finalizing a plan right now to have the letter handed directly to Marc Racicot, in person. Look for an article on KABA soon.
 
It pains me to suggest this, but if you want to "shake some trees", see to it that the Dems see this letter. Kerry's folks will dance with every "sportsman" group they can and Bush would have to do SOMETHING to woo us back.

KMKeller is right drop it on the desk of every politico you can and see if it resonates.
 
Ok, he wrote a letter. I guess that's what writers do.

Let me tell you what does work. I worked for my congressman during the 2002 election. We had spent the day going door to door and we were sitting around the office grabbing a bite to eat. I was B.S.ing with some guys who were wearing their NRA pins and jackets and we started talking Second Amendment issues. The candidate just sat and listened nodding approval. He has a very good record in supporting the Second Amendment.

If you need help from a candidate, work for that candidate. Letters without commitments are just dandy but they get thrown in the trash pretty quick. Next time you get a letter from the NRA, think about a politician receiving an letter.

Don't believe me? Ask Sham to PROVE his background in RKBA. And don't just believe whatever is told you. Examine it yourself. Get the proof.

Some see "Extremists" (which is what some feel I am) where others see "Principled Defenders of the Second Amendment". It depends on the position where you're looking from, AND if you are willing to subject yourself to just "blindly" follow Devil Sham, or to challenge your traditional views of the Keepandbeararms.com, and think for yourself.

Now, isn't that an interesting proposal. THINK FOR YOURSELF. A rare skill in today's generation. Some would rather worship the ground that Sham walks on (which is quite sad), and never question who this guy is that came from obscurity in our movement in 1999, and in 4 months becomes an RKBA leader? How is it, that becoming a leader oin our movement is taken so lightly by Sham? All of the good leaders have been activists in RKBA for MANY years before attempting to become a spokesperson for our movement, which is the right thing to do. At least, there is a much better chance for proper representation of the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (RKBA), when one is seasoned and experienced.

I don't know about you, but you at least owe it to yourself and our movement, to see if the things I say here are true. But don't just settle for flimsy excuses. DEMAND the truth.

Remember something else too. What would have happened if the "victims" of the Catholic clergy had remained silent, and the perverted Catholic fags had never been exposed of their sodomy with the alter boys?

Should they have taken the advice of some, this horrid abuse would still be continuing, since some feel the silent approach is the best way! "Don't expose this dirty laundry in public, and potentially hurt the RKBA movement....", some say.

Some philosophy!

There are times that a "whistle blower" is never a popular person. But, I have delivered to you the warning. It is now up to you, as to what level of independent thinking you wish to exercise.

Will you be the sheep, or something higher in creation, like a human being that can think for themselves?

The great news? I can rest in peace, knowing I tried to send out the warning, that the bridge is out. Hope you decide not to take the road with the washed out bridge!
