Story:
Angelina Jolie has revealed she keeps real Tomb Raider guns in her house - and she’s prepared to use them.

The actress says she got the firearms after filming the hit movie, and she and partner Brad Pitt would be prepared to use them to protect their family.

She tells the Mail On Sunday , “I bought original, real guns of the type we used in Tomb Raider for security. Brad and I are not against having a gun in the house, and we do have one. And yes, I'd be able to use it if I had to.

“I could handle myself. I think there are certain combat skills that would come out.”

Nobody posted this yet so here ya go.
Pistols would be HK USP Match's right?

Not sure what guns they'd be, but more than one Liberal-Minded woman has become a she-wolf about protecting kids once she had them, and embraced an armed household as a good idea. As long as she's not pulling that elitist garbage about "I need guns 'cuz I'm special, but I don't trust YOU with one......" then I'm fine with that. ( Hanoi Jane and Ted Turner come to mind)

Not really surprised. Lots of celebrities have VERY serious security concerns. I'd much rather be rich and anonymous...

My understanding is that quite a few celebrities have gotten some pretty good training as well. I would imagine that you won't find too many participating in public events though. More likely private lessons, etc.

She might own and use guns, but I'll bet she doesn't want you to have one.

I can't ever recall her saying anything one way or the other in the past. Yours was my initial reaction as well. But then I started searching my memory. I might be inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt until she proves otherwise.

I always find statements like these amazing. I don't think ANYONE can predict how they'd react if someone was shooting at them UNLESS they've actually experienced it. Reminds me of the thread about running towards the sound of shooting.

Just my .02

Regards,
Dave

The first tomb raider that came out was the last I played, but iirc Croft carried Hi Powers.

You can put your money wherever you want of course.

I'd have to wonder what combat skills she has...but wouldn't discount it outright. Some celebs have taken personal security seriously. While Angelina and Brad may or may not be the high-speed/low-drag operators in real life that they portray on the screen...Steven Segal could well prove to be the bite that most bad guys couldn't chew...with guns or hand-to-hand.

And most forum members are not the high-speed/low-drag operators in real life that they portray on the internet. :D

Hey,I give her props for saying what she did.

I'm not surprised she has guns afterall, her and Brad are living in New Orleans.

who cares if she's pro-gun? What makes her so special? She's just a person who pretends to be other people for entertainment. How are her opinions on political subjects worth more than any other Joe Average? Being a celebrity doesn't give her any more of a voice than anybody else IMO.

Maybe she owns/can shoot/fight, maybe not. But it probably won't hurt to have those words out there in the public domain.
If John Lennon had ever said "I'm armed and prepared to defend myself and family" instead of lofty, pacifist Imagine BS, he might still be alive.

Apparently you never saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith because she got shot at alot in that :D

.cheese - Oh, so no one should ever voice their opinion, even when they agree with us?

Sure, STEAL the 1st Amendment while the antis are hot on stealing the Second.

?? What? All I'm saying is that she's just an actress. Her opinions aren't worth any more than our opinions. Even if she agrees with us.

STEAL the 1st Amendment while the antis are hot on stealing the Second.

The 1st Amendment is about checking the government from restricting the right to free speech.

She's probably had more training than half the people on this site. JT

"I was just happy that I could pull off a lot of those stunts. I had to train for over two months before filming, and then all the way through we were training. But I learned all these different skills. They put up a boxing bag and a bunch of power bars in my living room for like eight months.

There was also bungee ballet, diving, and weapons training and kick boxing, and everything from yoga to soccer and rowing. And I learned how to sword fight. But when I was trying to shoot, there were shells going down my shirt. So sometimes I would be thinking, this is not for me." - A.J. interview
