Although I could care less what a celebrity things politically or otherwise it is refreshing to have one speak out positively about gun ownership. Especially about how young he was when he got his first gun.

I know Angelina has said she has said in interviews that she has no qualms about using one of her guns to stop someone attacking her family or invading her house.

It's nice to see celebrities who make violent movies with guns but who also believe in responsible gun ownership versus those who make movies with tons of shooting and killing and then say they are against gun ownership. It's not even funny how many actors/actresses have made a living off of violent movies and then go and say guns are the problem.

Brad Pitt: I've been a gun owner since 'I was in kindergarten'

Published October 14, 2014

“There’s a rite of passage where I grew up of inheriting your ancestors’ weapons,” 50-year-old Pitt, according to the Independent. “My brother got my dad’s. I got my grandfather’s shotgun when I was in kindergarten.”

Pitt revealed he was given an air gun first and got the shotgun at age 6. He said he first fired a handgun at age 8.

“The positive is that my father instilled in me a profound and deep respect for the weapon,” he said.

If you're the kind of person who will only watch a movie if the actor is pro-2nd Amendment then you should watch Pitt's new WWII tank movie, "Fury".

Pitt, however, is equally outspoken when it comes to his support for President Obama. When asked at the September premiere of his film Killing Them Softly who he's voting for come November 6, Angelina Jolie's love didn't hesitate: "I'm an Obama supporter and I'm backing his election campaign."
Yeah, all we need is more celebs like this guy.

Most actors are moonbats with traits that are hardly worth lionizing. You can appreciate them on-screen, sure, but off-screen is where the crazy comes out.

No doubt about that.

dont forget Bruce Willis!

I know Chuck Norris is also a big 2nd Amendment proponent.

Adam Baldwin wins the pro-2a actor award as far as I am concerned. Crazy offscreen, but MY kind of crazy.

Very clear and outspoken about his position, and hangs out with Larry Correia to boot.

I'm not reading the article, but IMO the first step to accomplishing what you stated in the thread title is to abolish the completely bull-dung practice known as "May Issue". Nothing, and I mean nothing, that is protected by the Bill of Rights or the Constitution should be may issue. Not even professional security guards aka hired guns should be able to have anything that anybody else can't.

It's easy to preach about disarming the commoners when you have special privileges due to your wealth, fame, or political connections/corruptions

SO true... SO true!

Sylvester Stallone.
I heard that he is anti-2A, anti-gun. Doesn't think that the average peon should actually have the right to keep and bear arms.

And he has a Class 3 license, all the California endorsements that the Elite get, and has all kinds of NFA weaponry that is out of the reach of the common folk.

The US broke out of the class system about 100 years ago and good riddance. It may still be around to an extent but nothing like it was before. Many of the laws we have that prohibit things were intended to keep those things from the lower class types that annoyed the upper class so much. They would like nothing more than to go back to that system. Lucky for us this is still America and we have a chance to fight back.

And yet...May Issue

I would stubbornly hesitate to label any gun-owning celebrity as 'pro-2nd Amendment'. None of them. I don't know a one who I can comfortably call pro-2A.

For that matter, I would resist using that label on any gun owner that I don't happen to know personally; celebrity, politician, fellow hunter met in the field, shooter at the range, etc.

I don't know how they see that amendment. Just because I can see that they own, use, or talk about guns, doesn't mean they have a proper understanding of the Bill of Rights, freedom, or the Constitution at all.

I can't venture to guess that gun-owning Hollywood celebs might be anything other than some other form of pro-gun, as opposed to pro-2A. Pitt might only be a plinkster-fudd for all we know. He might be an elitist who is only 'pro-HIS-guns', and not your guns. He supports antis after all, so I would never use the term 'pro-2A' for him, ever.

But I would agree that we DO need more gun owners, period. And we desperately do need a whole lot more truly pro-2A people too.

Not sure if we can call Chucky a celebrity anymore LOL.
Oh goodness, I see Tom Selleck above too..we're having to scrape the bottom of the barrel but I'll take what we can get.

Can we trade the Motor City Madman for someone though?

Yep - I think the problem with Woods, Norris, Selleck, and even Bruce Willis these days, is that they are all falling into the stereotype of what a lot of the public sees gun owners as: old white guys.

To many in the younger generation if you called any of them except *maybe* Willis "famous" it would illicit a snicker as if you just called your 8-track tape desk state of the art.

We need younger celebs, we need women, and we need minorities. To dismiss celebrities as being "out of touch" or weird is to ignore what drives a lot of of the country's voting habits. We'll end up with them voting away our rights if we ignore simple realities.

In that respect Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and Adam Baldwin are all good celebrities to have on our side - hopefully we'll see more diverse 2A supporters among their ranks as time goes on.

I respect celebrities even more who can split from the group thinking of one party or another. It's possible to be pro-Obama And pro-2A, just like I can be a Gay-friendly, atheist, republican. Good for Pitt! Don't follow blindly.

Brad and Angelina are very big firearm supporters. I recall reading an article where they spent $400K to build a gun range at their house in France. I often joke to my wife that I need to paint myself so they will adopt me.

Most celebs are probably afraid to step out. (Of anything but the closet anyways)

...in fear of the establishment shrinking their movie offers to zilch.

You are correct. I see another one here, james Woods. I'll take anyone but yea, we need some Tom Cruise/Richard Gere/Matt Damons.

I think it's safe to say we've lost DiCaprio, unless we can find a way to limit our carbon emissions at the same time.

I agree that shooting sports needs to be better advertised. If I see one more old white guy with a mustache narrating a televised hunt or shooting match I'll scream. We need to show well educated, quick witted, young professionals having a good time hunting and shooting. Someone like me.. Ok so I'm not young or witty, but I don't have a mustache or an old man's receding hairline or shaky voice.

I bet Megan Kelly would do it!

I want to go to the crappy little town where I'm a folk hero! lol.

I agree. Adam Baldwin is excellent, on and off screen.

Didn't know about Pitt being pro 2A. I was swearing off the new movie thinking about his pro-obama stance.
