Except Remington doesn't sell Buckhammers anymore. They were my son's favorite.
If I were to go with an 870, it would be a cantilever barrel every time.
20 ga gives up so little to 12 ga and recoils so much less there is very little reason to not get one unless you already have a 12 or a 12 is cheaper to purchase..
Remington isn't the only company that makes cantilever barrels for Remington shotguns. Mossberg actually does, but the only one I would own is the Hastings Paradox. The cantilever is lower than Remington's.If you run a cantilever bbl youll need a hogh comb stock....and dont be surprised when it aint high enough.
Field bbl sucks w high comb stock, as it makes it like a trap gun. Kinda bad if youre used to shooting a flat gun.
So..
IMHO swapping bbls means also swapping buttstocks. PITA. Better is a dedicated slug gun and a beater express works fine
Unfortunately w todays climate, a decent used field or slug model 870 is a hot item. My LGS hasnt had one in months.
I’ve thought long and hard about replying since I read this yesterday and finally decided to do so. I’ve gotten to where I almost never read your posts anymore because I find them disjointed and hard to comprehend. It seems like you have a lot of valuable knowledge worth sharing though and I would read your posts with relish if they weren’t so difficult to decipher.Again, im on my phone. Also compartmentalize ideas. Called stream of consciousness writing.
Grow up
Not a problem. Tried to be nice. Ignore button time.Just shows once again how some in the gun community are narrow minded and petty.
