Any idea what happened to it?
Word has it that my grandfather had it.

He passed last year and I think my great aunt has a few of the old family guns.

It is my understanding that those old guns may get passed to Pops at some point in the near future.

Pops was telling me the other day that that old krag is what my great grandfather used to hunt deer for the CCC back in the day. I guess the gov hired him to feed the construction crews in remote areas.

Interesting stuff.

I've had two and would take another if it looked like that one. First one was a completely original 'musket' type, with the long barrel. Somebody before me d/t'd it and had a Lyman All-American 4x on it. Bought it in the late 70's for $110 and sold it for $500 a few years back.
The second one was a bubba'd-beyond-belief job. Guy had used a hacksaw to shorten the stock both front and rear and had screwed in a hard rifled butt plate that was too tall for the butt. Paid a guy at the gunshow under $150 for it and sold it for about double to a guy that just had to have one to play with.
Now I'm looking for one like what you got.

Well you don’t find a lot of them for what I paid ($460). But if I found one, you can too.
