I took my daughters again to the range today, but also invited my preacher and and his two oldest children too. The kids had a blast (his children have never fired or held a gun before). He had a good time shooting my shootgun and FN 40 Practical.
Here is where it got interesting. We had people on both sides of us whom were blasting away with short shotguns, semi-pistols and kleshnikov rifles:scrutiny: . They were doing good hitting dirt and making noises. When I and my preacher shot my Marlin 120 Magnum and hit a jug every time 100 feet away they all stopped. Then I pulled out my single shot .270 shot two rounds and let the preacher shoot same target and hit it every time. These guys (young people) seemed general impressed. I always believed one well aimed shot is better then a hundred spray and pray, but this was a subtle visual these guys could understand and they got it.
Our children did a good job on our targets as well. It took me an hour to repair them for next time. A very proud DADDY:)

Isn't it great to see a group of new shooters have a good, successful day at the range! You did a good job with the "pre-shoot instructions" cool.

Great job.

You should offer some suggestions in the future to help the newbs along on their marksmenship. (depending on your evaluations of them by their genuine interest in shooting and characters.) It is quite likely that they never got the proper tutoring when they started.
