Recently brought a friend of mine to the range for her first time. She had a blast - shooting various handguns on the pistol range mostly and with some reasonable instruction she was hitting targets fairly consistently at various ranges.

Anyway, she wanted to give my Arisaka a try on the rifle range so off we went. She enjoyed shooting that as well; 50 yards - 4 out of 5 shots on target but her reaction was priceless:

Anyway, I think she's hooked; always good to add to the sport.

That is great! My wife went mushroom hunting with me and I carried my Browning Buckmark with me. She has shown no interest in my guns, but is happy that they make me happy. Took a break from mushrooming to shoot at things floating down the river and asked her if she would like to try. She has been watching Top Shot with me and likes it. Here's the kicker; I have tremor so am not a particularly good pistol shooter. My wife is no sissy, has rock steady nerves and natural hand to eye coordination. She started hitting her targets better than me!! With practice, she could be a hellava shooter. I predict that one of these days she will be asking to own one...I hope.

That's great! It's always fun to turn a new shooter on to this sport.

It looks like you are like me. When I bring someone whom has never shot to the range, I have some much fun that I forget to shoot!:D I especially like bringing people from countries that do not allow firearms. They have a lot of preconceived ideas about firearms, but always have a great time and continue to bring up the experience years later. We usually take lots of pictures and video so they can send them to their family and friends (just to let them know they are being corrupted by those crazy Americans).

Introducing new people (especially women) to shooting is usually more fun than shooting your self. Just be careful not to scare them off!

    Keep up the good work.
