Took my young son to the range on Wednesday. He was shooting "his" P9C, .40cal and tearing up a 9 inch bullseye at 15 yards. Two other adult men came over to see who was shooting and went back to their own targets a bit less sure of themselves. They both had shots scattered all over their targets at 7 yards.

Range membership $150
P9C $425
Ammo $20
Targets $2

Watching your 13 year old emasculate two grown men...... priceless!

My boys (18 & 20) have been trying for the last 3 years to beat my scores. Really have to watch them! I have to work twice as hard to stay ahead by 12-20 points.

A few weeks ago I took my wife to the range for the second time. The first time we rented a .22 for her and I let her shoot my GP-100 with .38 Specials. On her first time I didn't have her shoot my Kel-Tec P11, as I didn't think she'd like the recoil of the little, light 9mm. This time we didn't get a rental and I let her shoot the GP-100 and the Kel-Tec.

I was right that she didn't like the recoil of the Kel-Tec, but it didn't matter much. I shot 10 rounds first at her request, with the shots all in the black (I won't say much more). When I handed the gun to her she took aim and punched the center out of the 10 with her first shot. If you used a ruler you couldn't have found the center of the target more precisely. After only a couple more shots she said she was done with the little P11. I told her with shooting like that she probably wouldn't need to use all of the ammo, anyway.

Before our first range trip, she didn't even want to hold a gun. Now she kids me that if we are ever threatened I'll have to hand my gun to her (I have CCL, she does not) so she can take care of the problem. While I could take offense, I'm just glad she's taking such price in her shooting.
