Another Hornady LNL AP Press

I just added another LNL AP press to my loading bench. After loading over 10,000 rounds on my current LNL AP with no problems, I thought it would be nice to have one set up for small primer and one for large primer. Since I shoot 2 to 4 different calibers weekly, a quick change from one to another on the press is important to me. Now all I have to do is change shell plate and dies which takes 3 to 4 minutes. Without using either a case or bullet feeder, I can easily load 350 to 400 rounds an hour which takes care of my needs very nicely.

After reloading for over 35 years, I've found it's easier to keep everything in its place. I know where to look for anything I need. I can't believe it took me so long to get a progressive press. I finally convinced myself to buy one last November. It didn't take long to fall in love with it. I load all my pistol calibers on it. I still use the Rockchucker for rifle although the Hornady press can be used as a single stage with excellent results.

I Like! I've been trying to justify another press, 357 and 45ACP, now I can use you!

I just ordered one. Someone told me to try the Powderfunnel part instead of the actual Hornady models. I'm going to get one to try.

When a taper crimp is needed, I use the Hornady PTX so I still have a station for my Lockout Die. The current PTX expanders do an excellent job. When loading for revolver calibers with a roll crimp, I just use my normal expander die and the standard pistol insert that comes with the press in my powder measure. You will probably need to call Hornady and ask them to send you several shims to put under the die bushing. Most people find a shim is necessary under the Quick Change Powder Die to hold it snug in the press. You might also ask for several case retainer springs as they are the most common thing to break. I hope you enjoy your press as much as I do mine.
