That damned NRA has done it again. Boy I should just resign my non-Commission and drop my Life Membership.

Go figure.

Anti-Gun Amendment Voted Down in Pennsylvania!

Wednesday, April 02, 2008

Thank You For Your Hard Work!

On Tuesday, April 1, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives defeated an amendment to House Bill 1845, by anti-gun State Representative David Levdansky (D-39) that would have required gun owners to report the loss or theft of a firearm to law enforcement or face criminal prosecution. By a vote of 128 to 75, the amendment was voted down!

The House overwhelmingly passed two NRA-supported amendments to HB1845, which further protect the rights of Pennsylvania’s gun-owners. One amendment, which passed 197 to 5, sponsored by Representative Edward Staback (D-115), would eliminate the prohibition of concealed carry permit holders right to carry in State Parks. Another amendment, which passed unanimously, introduced by Representative Russell Fairchild (R-85), would prohibit any government agency from confiscating or regulating the lawful sale, possession, transfer, transport and carry of firearms during a state of emergency, such as occurred in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

If this is a duplicate, I apologize, I couldn't find the original.

That damned NRA has done it again.

Can't be true. I read that the NRA is the biggest anti-gun organization in the world, that it's only interested in hunters, that it sold out to Carolyn McCarthy, and that Wayne LaPierre is "a Gucci wearing wimp."

I read them in messages posted on The High Road, so I know they must be so, and that scandalous information about Wayne LaPierre's shoes was posted by one of Gun Owner of America's most prominent affiliates so goldarn it it gotta be so you betcha. I may not know much about nothin' but I believe everything GOA says for sure you betcha.

this thread is more dysfunctional than a family of rabid chipmunks.

can someone sumarize the posts so far so that I can understand them, cause comprehension at this point seems unlikely for me.

If I understand it correctly, it reads like this:

The original poster was attempting a tongue-in-cheek stab at anti-NRA folks by pointing to the bill getting voted down partially due to NRA support against it.

The second post remarked on the idiocy of the law that was proposed.

The third poster added to the original tongue-in-cheek message that the NRA doesn’t help defeat proposed gun laws.

The next poster cheered for PA.

The next one was voicing his happiness. He also made a disparaging remark about the governor of PA.

The next posters also voiced their pleasure.

That about sums it up. Pretty good news for 2A proponents. For entertainment purposes, it was pretty boring since there was no talk about zombies prior to you posting your question. :)

Okay 209, I'll try, but I haven't finished my first cup of coffee yet.

Zombies in Penn State parks beware!

Hope that helps.

PS notice I even put it in bold.

Thank you 209 for your concise and accurate summation of the obvious.

Well, I'm from the government. I'm here to help. :uhoh: :p

Much better! :D

But we should keep in mind that the thread is another victory for gun owners. Is it my imagination or do we seem to be winning a few lately?

ah! I see then, the toung-in-cheek refrence threw me off, thought everyone was being serious.

and when I read govenator I was thinking arnold, cause I have only heard him called the govenator, but I couldn't figure out what california had to do with pennsylvania.

meh, weird ways in which my brain handles information, anywho yay for gun rights FTW!!1!1111!!!11

oh yea, and there was a reference to zombies, check my siggy :D

God, I love this state!!!

Every piece of anti legislation that is introduced gets overwhelmingly shot down and then the whiners complain that its all because of th NRA. As if the NRA has complete control over 200 state representatives.

Those 200 reps know who gave them thier cushy jobs and they know not to mess with our guns.
