I'm looking for folks who own Saigas in either Western Ark or Eastern Ok.

I'd like to go shooting with you some time, and try out your Saiga, if that's alright.

I'll even bring the ammo and targets.

I have access to a 300 yard range at my gun club, or I am even willing to travel a bit to come see you.

I'm not trying to wrangle your rifle away from you. I'm just curious about Saigas, and want a chance to shoot one before I plunk cashola down for one.

Thanks for any replies.

not from there, but i currently have 2 , and had 2 others in the past. had to go back, and get my current two. they are excellent. hammer forged , cold pour , chrome lined bbls, that are thick. the 16 inchers are quite acc., but i do not know how acc the longer bbls are. I have a 762 russian, and a 223, both of which are moa capable, and they are stock, no trans jobs. also you can get hi caps right now , of regular ak mags to work in them, you will have to wait a bit on hi cap 308 mags, but they are coming! also even in the stubby 308's , recoil is nothing as far as i'm concerned. A sandbagged 223. , you can watch the impact, if you've got good follow through.

Hillbilly,
I too am not near you[central Ok], but I can tell you that both the short and long barrel Saiga 308's are very fine shooters.
I had a 16 " barrel, but traded it off. Regrets on that.
I currently have a 22" barrel/wood stock. It is stock except for a 6x42 PSOP scope. I get 1" or less 3 shot groups at 100 yds. from a bench.
I'm sure someone who is a really good shot could do better.
I'm retired, so any time you want to drive out here, we'll take her out for a dance.

I had a 22" barreled Saiga .308 but it had the black plastic stock. Just wasn't for me...I couldn't warm up to the black plastic. Had the hunting style stock which really wasn't too bad but I felt should have been wood with that style stock. Anyway, I got rid of it (regret it now), the gun was extremely accurate. I never scoped it but had no problem making 2-3 inch groups at 100 yards with iron sights and my crappy eyesight. I'm sure there are experienced shooters sho could do better and with a scope I'm sure the gun is capable of much more. With the big barrel and long stock, is not the best home defense gun (too long) but is great at the range. If I found one with wood stocks...I'd buy another one.
