Any Advice on Buying a Kahr???

If you actually look up the Christian Unification Church on wikipedia or something, they really aren't so bad. No crazier than many other, more mainstream sects.

Plus, John Moses Browning was a Mormon. I guess that means you should never buy anything designed by him, right?

I have witnessed and experienced considerable jams with several Kahr polymer guns, the all steel frames are fine. I have also witness the slide stop/release lever break on two late model "new" PM9's after 300 rds.

I have a CW9 (poly frame, least expensive of the Kahr 9mm's) and like it. It's pretty much my main carry gun. I've practiced a fair amount with it (somewhere between 1500 and 2000 rounds through it) and it has been very reliable. It is also very small and light while offering 7+1 of 9mm. I have a Bersa Thunder 380CC but most of the time I'll carry the Kahr, as it is only a tinier bit heavy and maybe just a small tad larger than the Bersa but of course giving the advantage of 9mm over 380.

Follow the instructions (break-in of 200 rounds, use slide release to chamber the first round instead of slingshotting the slide) and a Kahr ought to do well for ya.

all the research iv done on the "moonies" has not shown me they are in any way involved in the company - yes - the owner's father is the "Rev." but supposidly the comapany is a seperate deal - the owner is a member of the church but according to him thats as far as it goes - so i dunno - i used to shy away from them because of it - but at the same time iv been laughed at and ridiculed because of my conservative christian beliefs- so whats really the difference?? dont they have a right to practice the faith of their choosing??

by the way- i have never heard you weren't supposed to "slingshot" the slide on the Kahrs - thats new to me - anyone had problems because of that??

Thanks for the input everyone - appreciate the help

I've got the K9 Elite, a steel version. It's good. Small and easy to conceal but heavy enough to manage recoil.

I got the 9, when it first came out, prior to the newer sub compact models, it only came in 9 when I bought it, and it jammed several times, I sold it and picked up an ultralight taurus revolver in 38+p. Alwys liked the look, and would try them again now, like 10 yrs later

I don't believe I have ever heard negatives about the K or MK other than weight. I bought my K9 almost five years ago. The all metal ones are tight and definately need the 2-300 rd break in period. I love mine when I want something smaller than my Glock 23. As long as you aren't pocket carrying, the weight should not be an issue.

OK guys - here's what i did - i decided on the P45 Kahr - very impressive little gun - im quite happy with it - so now you all have to help me find some holsters for it - on yeah - after getting this one i think the next gun i buy is going to have to be a Kahr in 9mm - something for the wife of course- im sure she wont mind if i borrow it from time to time

thanks for all the help so far
