Any AR-15's still out there for sale?

I had long been considering purchasing an AR-15 and finalized my decision to do so on Nov. 6. I had been eyeing several in my area and called my favorite shop to get one. Nothing! My shop had sold out. I started calling around, and discovered that every AR in a 100 mile radius had been sold, and every single gun shop owner stated that they didn't know when, or IF they could get anymore AR's in. I expanded my search to a 300 mile radius and finally found 1 AR :eek:

While there is a good possibility that AR's will come back in to stock at your average gun shop, it is going to be quite a while before they do, and all gun store owners are saying to expect a HUGE price increase when they do return.

How is the AR-15 market in your area? Any AR's on the shelf? Just curious how widespread this phenomenon is....
 
The Wednesday after the election, I bought mine. The gunshop owner said he sold 2 that morning. Mine, a Bushmaster XM15, was $929.00. He said that he had 6 more coming Thursday at $999.00. Last January I was pricing them at $850ish. My wife made me buy it Wednesday, darn.:D You may have to buy it on Gun Broker and have it shipped to a FFL.
 
I'm hoping that things might calm down a little bit over the next few months. I'm not banking on that however. If I were you, I would order one NOW, and be prepared for a significant wait period before your order is filled.

The Liberals are going to act as quickly as they can to try to ban our rifles. Waiting to purchase is a gamble. Things are more expensive now, but they may not be able to be sold at all in the future. Order one from a reputable company and buy a good one. At least order a good lower. You can purchase the upper later.
 
depending on who you buy from online, you'll either have to wait in line for them to process your order ( a couple weeks at worst) or get in line for the back order (RRA is back-ordered to Hell and back, Colts won't be found for awhile, etc.)
 
i got an email from budsgunshop.com, they got plenty,just find an ffl to have it shipped to. i bought a wby accumark in january,with no interest for 1 year, & just paid it off,i shot the gun for free for 10 months. they may still offer that deal if you check their website.it was one of the best deals ive ever got.+ the gun was under 1000,not bad for an accumark.....
 
The price gouging is going to be pretty bad. All this panic over something that may or may not ever come into being. The places around be always have a few. I hope there is a special place in hell for the price gougers that feed off peoples fears about anything.

Its getting harder here in Missouri... St. Louis, St. Charles, etc...

1st I don't know of any place in St. Louis County that sells ARs...

So, I drove about 30 minutes west to St. Charles this early afternoon and went to two shops that usally have a good stock of AR, AK, FNs, etc... The one had two Bushy A2 Fixed Upper, Fixed But Stock type, the other had about 12 assorted various moddels and brand ARs, they normally keep a whole back room fully...

The guy at the 1st place told me when these two are gone, I can order more, but I dount I'll ever get them...

The second place that had like 12 left, said they had sold 80 of them today.... From the lines and the 6 guys behind the counter selling stuff left and right I beleive it....
 
I was told my by a local dealer DPMS was backed up for about 8 months and his supplier was out of the rifle I was looking for. I'm going to buy a complete lower off of gunbroker very soon.
 
My local gunshop (eastern NC) still had at least 3 in stock, but that's a lot less than they normally have. At least one was a S&W M&P flattop with a carbine length gas system and forward rail setup, IIRC. Price was pretty reasonable (under $1K, don't remember the exact price).
 
Gunbroker.com may be the only place left right now, and those won't last too long. Buy now if you want to get it soon. Good luck!

So I guess they guys selling gas for 25 dollars a gallon because of a hurricane evacuation and places running out of gas is okay too. Low supply high demand. Those dealers paid the same price for their guns they are just doubling or tripling their profits because of panic buying. I never understood why people think a system the encourages greed and being a general low life was so great. Just my point of view on the matter. Personally I could care less. I don't own an AR or plan on buying one so go ahead and gouge away.

You mean your local fuel distributor should drive into disaster ridden areas, into an evacuation zone for the same price as normal? You want gas in times like that, you SHOULD pay more. What would someone have to pay you to drive towards a hurrican just to fill up a station? :banghead: I'm happy they're willing to make a buck so people can have what they want or can pay for.

Seriously, I would much rather have gas available at $25/gallon in a disaster than to have nothing. If businesses weren't allowed to "price gouge" it might not be worth it for them to sell us anything...Same with AR-15's when supply is thin.
 
I am talking about the local store that has a 10k gallon tank filled before the storm then as soon as the panic starts prices go up 5 fold. Most of these dealers probably had all these parts before the election and the panic and the so called shortage.
 
I'm going to go check out some of the local shops as soon as I can just to see how much panic has set in around here. With all the talk I've been hearing at the range recently, I'd imagine lots of people are out buying.
 
I dropped in at Mary's Pistols in Tacoma and Dan says they're selling out of lowers. He had a handful left, but wasn't expecting them to last the week. He had a couple dozen 30 round PMags in the case as well as a bunch of other brands. Despite being a small shop, they're not jacking their prices at all.
