I purchased my Sig Sauer Mosquito at a local gun shop here in Florida, I got it with only 100 rounds through it, i watched the guy fire 100 rounds appx and trade it in I only played 350 in cash for it out the door. the first 500 rounds went like crap, i was about to get rid of it. Then i started trying all kinds of ammo, Aguila, Remington, ect..... My gun now has about 2000 rounds through it and I dont have any problems with it at all with certain ammo (CCI Mini-mags, Remington Golden Bullets, CCI Stingers, Remington Yellow Jackets, & Aguila Interceptors). My shot groups at 25 yards indoor are about 5 1/2 inches by 4 inches, that means at 25 yards I point at someones head and they are dead. Is it the most reliable or accurate 22 handgun out there...simply put no. However I really do feel like I have a quality firearm for the money I spent, and its a great trainer because of the hard trigger, I find that with my friends H&K USP 45 I shoot better than him because of my time with my SIG. I plan to keep this pistol as my home defense pistol until I buy my SIG P250 in .357 SIG, then it will be a fun range pistol for quite awhile.

Admittedly, I've never shot one, but have a low opinion of it anyway. If I am going to pay $399 for a .22, I want at least a steel slide. For about the same money I can get a Ruger or Browning Buckmark and have real quality.

The normal price for it is $299.99 and you can find it for less. That's the NIB price too. I suppose Mini Mags are the big $ rounds, but they're still cheap as hell. $6.47/100 at wally world isn't exactly breaking the bank for most people.
As far as quality, shoot Mini Mags and it's about 99.99% flawless and looks really nice too. Plus it's the only gun my daughter will shoot.

and never shot one, but having a low opinion is probably something best kept to yourself since there is absolutely no basis for the statement to stand on.

There are many options for purchasing a .22 caliber pistol. The Ruger and Browning lines will provide you with many, many years of reliable service and will be among the firearms that you'll be proud to hand down to the next generation of Woofers. In my view, the same thing cannot be said for the pistol in question, or similar others that demonstrate the same quality. You might want to run a search on the Mosquito; the topic has been discussed many times here, with all manner of folks weighing in.
