I'm trying to find a load to make power factor for IDPA using Bullseye powder and .230gr Rainier bullets. Anyone have data on 4.5 grains? I'm told by a friend that I'm fine but I'd like to be sure before I load a few hundred.

My own tests using Bullseye and very similar Berry's TMJ (plated) 230 grain:

Springfield GI .45 Full-size
CCI Primers
Mixed Cases

4.6 gr avg 807.6 fps
4.4 gr avg 781.4 fps

5.0 gr. seems like a factory load duplicate at around 830 fps.

guess vs know

Won't know; can only guess that your 4.6g / 230g will go between 680--800fps (I expect 740fps).

According to my Sierra reloading manual (5th Edition), the Sierra 230 gr FMJ Match bullet and 4.6 gr of Bullseye powder give a velocity of 800 fps.
(4.5/x)(4.6/800)=782.6 fps according to my math. Hope this helps.
