Although I've got several full-capacity magazines on order, I've also called up several stores around town to see if anyone had any deals. No one seems to have any special deals, and some stores are still charging $85 on some Glock magazines. Another was charging $39.95. Thanks, but no thanks.

Just wondering if anyone is finding any decent deals on magazines at gun stores. Or is everyone ordering from CDNN and Fourfourmag.com?

Also, for the benefit of the shooting community, list the best deals you've found so far. Thanks.

I've only been in one shop since the ban ended, and they were selling them for the same price as they sold them to LE during the ban

Was in Jensen Arms today buying STUFFF and the guy says "want any glock mags, that's all anyone seems to want today?"
well, ummm, no, but got any Baretta 92 mags?
Sure, how many?
2, how much?
$29.95, brand new.
Thought that was a deal and pretty fair.
someone asked about the 10 rounders and he said they were actually selling them below cost to get rid of them.

Any other online shops for mags? fourfour doesn't have any mags for my PT-111. I've only got one. =(

Thanks,
J

I was in a store yesterday asking about 30 Rnd USGI M16 mags. Guy told me he'd sell them to me for $30 a piece. I said " I'm not gonna do that" Got to talking about other stuff like the AWB and he said "I'll tell you what I'll sell them for $12 as many as you want" I bought some LEO new mags. I figure that was a good deal. He didn't charge tax and no shipping.

MY local shop has them all marked down to average internet price plus 5%. I was in there Tuesday as he was grumbling to himself while he was cutting pre-ban ARs by $500. He said he lost about $5k the day the ban died.

He said he lost about $5k the day the ban died.

That is one way of looking at it. Another would be that he made tens of thousands from the ban, and this is a small correction at the end.

A third way of looking at it is that he didn't plan his inventory properly in the last year. I mean, we all knew when the ban was due to expire, right?

This guy either miscounted, or made a bet that it would be renewed.

Either way, he lost. I feel very little sympathy.

"This guy either miscounted, or made a bet that it would be renewed."

No, He has had the inventory for somtime. More like he over purchased about 5 years ago.

I was grumbling about having to mark things down but he did say he would make it all back up with new orders and smith work threading barrels.

He just couldn't run out the stock on hand before the expiration. Of course, noble note, he wasn't one of the ones pushing over priced mags on folks knowing how mad they would be when the prices dropped this week.

Took a loss in one place but will make up for it in others.
