I'm in Utah and am registered as an Independent, because I don't like this party two party stuff, even though I think I'll vote Republican in the presidential election. The problem is, if you're registered Independent, you can only vote in the Democratic primaries in the state of Utah  They have some belief that some Democrat will intentionally register as Independent so that they can sabotage the Republicans by voting for someone who doesn't have a chance  I don't know why anyone would be that stupid because Democrats often will win National elections and you'd want the lesser of the evils :banghead: Since I think that I have a duty to vote as a citizen, who is the lesser of the Democratic evils? My main issues in the presidential election is voting for someone who will oppose an assault weapons ban and won't pass legislation making it difficult to carry concealed in schools, sports arenas, etc. Not that I'm going to vote who you say I should, I'm just fishing for some knowledge here to help in voting.

What are the Democratic candidates' views on handguns, AK-47's, etc? Who's the lesser of the evils?

Generally speaking, the GOP is better on gun ownership than Dem's...but that's probably because the NRA dumped their best Dem supporters in favor of unknown GOP candidates. I'm still steamed about how they abandoned incumbant Georgia Congressman Buddy Darden in favor of Republican challenger Bob Barr back in the 90's. I lost a great Congressman over that. But they've done that alot...probably why so few Dem's are pro-NRA. Just my experience and observation.

Very depressing.
But will hold my nose and vote for McCain or Romney against either of the two Socialists ,Clinton or Obama.Guilani,RINO and Huckabee, semi RINO are toast.
Voting for a stalwart third party pro-gun candidate won't help if one appears. It just helps the two Commies.
Ralph Nader cost Al Gore the election in 2000.I'm not upset about that.
Bush was the lesser of the two evils by far.
Another thank you for all that great info, mekender.

I guess I could just not vote in the primaries. Although, it may be good to vote for the lesser of the three evils. Are there any? Whatsover? Who would be the least troublesome?

Edwards
