Any good hinged floor plate guns I can look at?

Everybody has preferences, but I like Winchester. Especially with the requirement of a hinged floorplate.

Winchester, Howa, Wby, Ruger, Remington, Bergara....others.

what price range are you looking in?
I'm just getting a feel for my options at this point, nothing specific. Probably not anything super expensive. I just would like something in my collection at some point; my grandfather lent me a rifle with a hinged floorplate when he first took me hunting and I thought it was really neat but most of the stuff I see looking at bolt guns are usually box mags.

Ok, well any of the above options are available for under 1k, and some are between 3-500.
Did you want a wood stock or synthetic, and any preference to maker?

My Weatherby Vanguard has a hinged floorplate, it's actually my first non-detachable mag rifle. They do come in 308 as well (mine is 223), that much I do know from when I was looking for a 308 myself. Not sure about 30-06 off hand but I'm assuming they do. Like Loonwulf said, lots of options out there.

Not knowing anything else, I will say this beauty struck my fancy when I was looking around in response to your question.

I fluctuate back and forth on that one, I'm good either way I guess.

About as classic as it gets. And you won't find a quality walnut blue rifle with a hinged floorplate much if any cheaper. There are a lot of accurate rifles in the sub $500 range, but a big part of the cost savings is the use of a detachable magazine and cheap synthetic stocks. They shoot just fine, but if aesthetics and function are important it's going to cost more.

But my personal preference is a bit more practical. SS metal and this is a decent quality synthetic. Much better than the injection molded plastic on many rifles. Street prices on both of these are under $1000.

I've pretty much settled on Kimber Classics and Winchester M70s for non dangerous game and cz 550s and Montana Rifle Company rifles for dangerous game.

They've got the features and quality I want.

You're welcome to look at my Heym/Wards Mauser, but you're about 50 years too late to buy one new.

The triggerguard looks a bit goofy out of the stock -- they took a .308-length action and stretched the magazine box to fit .30-06 and .270 Win. Works fine though. I was able to fit a Timney trigger without altering the bottom metal.

Among the all-time classic rifles with hinged floorplates were by Deutsche Waffen for South American militarys. Which is why the '09 Argentine is a favorite of custom gun makers, as shown in this before and after comparison. FP7.JPG FP10.JPG FP9.JPG DSC_0170.JPG
