Any impressions of the Crimson Trace version of the S&W 340pd?

Anyone have one?

I'm a fan of the Crimson Trace on the Smith J Frame.
I've had the Crimson Trace Laser Grip on a J Frame for a while.
Also have lasers or laser/lights on another S&W, Kimber, FN 5.7, Kel Tec PLR .223 pistols and 12ga pistol grip shotguns.
I won't be without a (quality) laser on my defense guns, if available.

In their element the laser is king.
But like any form of shooting it takes knowledge and practice to be proficient.
I try to practice with the laser at least once or twice a week.

Some recent laser targets.

15 yards. Point shooting. Top target left hand. Bottom target right hand. (I'm right handed)

25 yards, J Frame, standing, two hands, fast fire.

10 yards, left hand, point shooting from the hip.

That new Crimson Trace grip is just the thing for taming the brutal recoil of the 340pd.

Although for some reason I would prefer them without the S&W logo.

I was worried about that - is there enough meat rubber wise to be effective?

Let me qualify that by saying I had one of the ill fated lew horton 329 pd's (3"329pd with titanium cyclinder and barrel) and needed a pair of decelerators to make it shootable.

Nice looking gun and I'm a sucker for j-frames . . . . reminds me of summers spent playing with those cap pistols that were modeled after the model 60 as a kid.
