Just a question: I just purchased a new Kel-Tec P9 9mm slim line version.
I notice when I slide back the action the barrel in frt tilts up. Is this normal ?

thanks
Scott

I don't have one, but as the KT uses a Browning-based action, that's normal. The barrel is camming on a lug underneath it, so it tilts upwards as the chamber moves down.

I love my P9

Thanks guys

There is simply no better carry 9mm then the P9. Its just so small and most of all thin. I paid $299 for it, I know the P11 is cheaper but they were out and then I saw the P9 and just fell for it. Im very happy with it just wish I had a bigger clip.

Normal. And remember that barrel angle when you try to reassemble the gun. It is not easy to do the first time around.

For its intended purpose, the PF-9 is about as good as it gets. Mine resides in my pocket (in a DeSantis pocket holster) all the time. All the time.

2 questions,
what ammodo you buy for your P9 ? Im looking for bulk 9mm
also. tell me more about your set up for carry and maybe a picture

thanks
Scott

Most Kel-Tec pistols don’t like and wont tolerate steel cased ammo. I find cheap aluminum cased Blazer ammo works great in both my PF-9s for practice.

pastorscott,

I carry the PF-9 in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster and have done so successfully for quite some time. You can find that holster at the following Internet address:

www.desantisholster.com/n38.html

I generally carry ball ammo in the Kel-Tec, which I purchase in bulk, usually 1000 rounds at a pop from my local gun store (Larry's Pistol). Over the last year or so, I have been using Blazer Brass 115 grain loads with perfect reliability and perfect satisfaction.

This gun is my "always" gun. It is always in my pocket. In addition, I usually carry another, larger and higher capacity, firearm when I am "out and about." The new Ruger SR-9 fills that role at this time, and if it continues performing as it has over the last two weeks, it is likely to have the job full-time for the foreseeable future. I keep that gun loaded with 18 rounds of 115 grain Magtech hollow points.

I hope this has been somewhat helpful to you.

Usually carry mine in a Mike's IWB holster that migrates around from waist-band to pocket. Shoot for practice WWB 115gr FMJ (or equivalent), for carry prefer Federal 115 +P+ BPLE (from ammoman.com). Limited shooting of the +P+ due to manufacturer's warning about excessive wear on the gun. Usually no more then 2 mags, since it performs close enough to WWB for me to feel comfortable. Heck, main difference I notice is the groupings seem to shrink an inch or two. Surprisingly, I don't find the difference in kick noticeable, but that could be because I have a Houge grip with a bicycle inner tube stretched over it. I have small hands, and quite surprisingly find the slimline grip of the PF-9 almost too small.

Also, if you freshly purchased your PF-9, I HIGHLY recommend polishing the feed-ramp to nice shine. I did mine using a Dremil felt tip and their brown polishing compound in all of 2 minutes. I've yet to suffer a FTF after who knows how many rounds...Don't think I've ever had an FTE either.
