any left-handed cz75 owners?

Just curious if any left-handed people have cz75's. So far I've stuck mostly with sigs just because of the ergonomics working out for a leftie.

So, any lefties own the stock military or B models ? Problems? Am presently leaning towards the BD, just to eliminate any worries (assuming i can find one....)

You could also get a CZ 85B which is basically a 75 with ambi controls.

I'm a lefty and a certified gun-nut, which can be an infuriating combo. The SIGs work very well for me.

I have a milsurp CZ 75B with 96 born-on date. Because of the righty-only safety, I looked into adding an ambi aftermarket. I sent an inquiry to the CZ USA armorer, and was told that the WItness ambi safety would work, but only with some fitting by a 'smith. I don't carry the CZ, so it hasn't been a problem yet. If I were to buy another CZ, I'd definitely look into getting the 85 instead.

Yep...being lefty sure makes thing a little trickier....Finding pistols, holsters, and girlfriends that dont mind holding the "wrong" hand.

And then some of us get away with it every time.... or at least till they learn to stay on my right side.

I'm an odd-ball. I shoot and write left handed, but everything else is pretty much ambidextrous.


So the CZ85B is just the 75, except the safety exists on both sides? Take different mags or use the same as the 75?

All 75s and 85s take the same mags. The 85B is basically just a 75B with ambi slide stop and safety. When it first came out there was a difference in that it had a firing pin safety, but now the 75B does too- ironincally the only 75/85 variation witout it is an 85, the 85 Combat.

i'm a lefty and i have a 85,not really keen with the lefty slide release.
i,also looked at the 75SA(has ambi-thumb safety)

of those two samples the 85 had a better SA go figure

so that's what came home with me

As a fellow lefty, I try and keep track of available "southpaw friendly" firearms.

Besides the CZ85, the CZ75BD, the CZ75SA, and all the CZ75's in .40 S&W have ambi safeties, just no ambi slide-release, which I don't like/need anyway.

I had a Sig for a short while. I didn't consider it left-friendly enough, with that "even farther back than Glock" slide release...

So far, HK USP is the most convenient left-handed considerate pistol I own.

I've never dared to try wolf ammo in a pistol. Can the CZ's handle it, or will they choke like a politician confronted with real campaign finance reform?

I am a strict lefty and own a CZ 85 dual tone. It hasd ambi controls and looks great, shoots well. Never had any issues with it, I did change out the grips for Hogue wraparounds. It is great. I also own and prefer to shoot my Steyr M9. The Steyr has ambi inside the trigger guard saftey, slide release on left side and mag release on left. The gun just has a better trigger pull due to the partial cocked condition constantly, fires faster with less recoil or muzzle rise. I can double tap my way into grin every time I take it out.

By the way, what SIGs are you all talking about that are lefty friendly? I have never found a lefty friendly sig anywhere. Also, Beretta and Taurus 92 models are lefty friendly.

SIGs look to be righty-prejudiced, but with a little practice and patience, you may find that manipulating the controls with the left trigger finger (the mag release, the decocker) very easy and swift. Without having to shift your grip completely. The slide stop is just that....a slide stop. I like to slingshot the slide forward rather than using the stop as a slide release.

I'm sure Wolf will run in any firearm chambered for whatever caliber flavor you have. I prefer to run Wolf and other steel cased ammo through firearms that were designed with steel cased stuff in mind; The AK, the SKS, the Makarov, for starters. I am guilty, however of running steel-cased .223 through a Mini-14. Messy, but cheap!
