Most MG's run alot better with an electronic ingnition conversion. Side draft carbs are a pita though.

I have a couple of SMGs.. a Powder Springs MAC .45ACP with suppressor
and a STEN MKII.
I had a MG-42 and sold it a few years ago.

IIRC, an ac556 is just a FA mini 14.

my advice, buy/shoot a mini-14. If you like it and want to shell out the extra few grand for the FA version, go fir it.
