Hey! Anyone know if any manufactures are expecting to release new model pocket guns in the near future? I am considering buying a Keltec but would like to try something different.

Do the gun manufactures release new models at one time of the year? Like the shot show? Or do they just send em out when they are ready? Or does anyone know of a forum where they already discuss this issue?

thanks, thanks

Bill

can you link to the actual topic, that link just leads to the entire walther board

Just looking at the picture though, looks like a Glock-style trigger 'safety'. Don't think it would be a gun to just toss in a pocket without a holster.

First off, I don't consider anything that loads out over 20 ounces as a pocket pistol, so that pretty much rules out most except the Kel-Tec and Kahr PM series pistols. That being said, Kahr is supposed to be making a PM.45 at 17 ounces dry...If Kel Tec doesn't get their collective finger out and bring out a P4T5, I just might have to bite the financial bullet and pick one up.

Not really new, but Keltec came out with a new color combo on the P32, P3AT, and P11 in Navy blue grip/hard chrome slide.
Pretty classy looking. I traded all my black ones in for these.

Do you really want to buy a 1.0 version of a gun? I'd rather let early adopters find all of the problems. Better to buy a gun that's been around for years if not decades that has all of the problems ironed out.

Waiting for the Walther PPS to come out. I am interested in this gun big time.

I wouldn't want to put any gun in my pocket without a holster, unless the chamber was empty.

I've seen prettier... then again I hardly bat an eyelash at Kel-Tec (not exactly good looking firearms), but they can afford to be ugly for the price.

I liked my Kahr just fine (stolen), but the price is getting ridiculous... if $650-750 for a pocket 9mm doesn't phase you, by all means get one... I'm sold on pocket snubs, and I doubt they'll be getting any lighter any time soon.

I've been looking at the Walther and am seriously considering one. Its size is almost identical to my Bersa Thunder .380 CC, which is about the same size as a Walther PPK/s. It weighs about 2oz more than my Bersa. How does it stack up against the Kahrs? Its about a half-inch longer than a Kahr P9, but the other dimensions are almost identical. Weight is about half-way between the P9 and the K9.

I have absolutely no problem pocket carrying my Bersa in a Galco Pocket Protector holster with cargo shorts or cargo pants. I can do it in khakis or dress slacks, but you can definitely tell I have something heavy in my pocket. You cannot tell its a gun, just that there is definitely something there. I think where guns this size really shine is in tuckable IWB holsters and SmartCarry holsters.

I'm in the same boat, with my pocket carry firearm being chosen to match what I'm wearing at the time.

A Smith & Wesson Airweight J-frame fits the bill in Cargo slacks/shorts, coming in at 17.9 ounces (kitchen digital scale) stoked with five .38Spl +p's, and it rides very well in a leather pocket holster.

My Kel-Tec P3AT is almost half that in weight in a DeSantis Nemisis, and it is the carry gun of choice in anything closer fitting.

I carried a Bersa Thunder for a while, but I was "printed" when someone standing behind me looked down into my right front pocket. The pocket bowed outward a bit, and the handgun grip could be seen. An eye catching silver color backstrap and beavertail.

Having a stranger ask out loud, "Is that a gun in your pocket?", in a public place where others could hear, is a bit annoying.

For pocket carry, small, dark and deep works best.

My Bersa is the concealed carry version, which is a bit slimmer and shorter, so it rides a little deeper. Its also black, which helps too. I like the gun a lot. Its accurate, reliable and pleasant to shoot. I just want something with a bit more firepower. I am currently considering the PPS and the PM9 among others.
