Any new semi-autos coming out soon?

That video of the belt fed, fully auto .22RF might be the coolest thing I've seen in 27 years of living.

Well, the .22 I can't get cause I'm behind the Iron Curtain.

How much will those Fn's and the XCR cost?

Anything below $500?

Edit: Gee, the FN's abd XCR I can't get either. Nothing Kalis can look forward to. :(

Well, that tears it. Now we simply must defeat the Full Auto Ban.

It was annoying, but tolerable, until I saw a .22LR beltfed...

Kenshin, you really need to start posting that these topics of yours are CA related. Despite what your postbit says, if you don't put it in the post, people won't take it into consideration when answering.

Your choices that come to mind are: M1a, Ruger Semis, Keltec, M1 carbine, Garand. You should be able to get the Rugers for under $500 depending on store or if it's used and a Garand through CMP is a good option.

A pistol grip, a magazine and semiauto makes CA say "no".

Note the word CENTERFIRE RIFLE, last I look a 22 is rimfire. Plus the fact it is a belt fed and belt feds are legal in Kali (I know, I just got a 1919 a few months ago). So the 22 you can have in kali, only problem is that you cannot have a belt linked with more than 10 rounds as Kali considers belts a "magazine". Not much fun having a belt fed with only 10 rounds belt. Unless of course you had some belts already and hence are grandfathered in. ;)

Would be kinda hard to prove with the 22 belts as they are new productions though.

Kenshin, I'm in CA also.

Your best bets for semi-auto rifles in our state for around $500 are the Mini-14 and Mini-30, the SU-16 (go for the regular one, the B has a thinner barrel that'll heat up faster), and a CMP Garand.

ummmm...

Just where is the detachable magazine on a BELT-FED rifle? You could always use a single shot lower for legality sake.

Does anyone make a .223 belt fed upper for the AR, that would be legal in Kali so long as your AR lower didn't accept detachable magazines (e.g. FAB-10), right?

I believe belts are considered magazines by the law, unfortunately.

I think belts are considered "ammunition feeding devices" but are not the same, in the eyes of the law, as magazines. Therefore, if your rifle is belt fed, it think it can still have the pistol grip, flash suppressor, etc. features that would make it an assault weapon under Kali law (with a detachable magazine). But you're right, you can't link up more than 10 rounds today, although there's no law against using those old 10+ links you bought before Jan 1st, 2000. Just don't shoot them below 11 rounds and you'll be fine to link them back up again, as they will always retain their "pre-ban" status.

So 1 link in a belt, is a 1 round magazine, but when 11 links are combined it is an 11 round magazine. That may be what the legislators think, but it sounds like 11 one round magazines connected together to me. If I glued my hands together, they I'm pretty sure I would have a two hands glued together, each with 5 fingers. Not one big hand with 10 fingers. That needs to be challenged with a good lawyer.

I'd like to see the Daewoo's come back.

Particularly the 7.62x39 versions. With sidefolders, etc. :D

Edited: Just noticed this is a PRK thread. Sorry. :(

I can see the ban on belt-fed firearms in the future for CA becuase it would be too easy to "manufacturer" a high capacity magazine.
