I carry a Taurus M65 3" barrel quite often. I also have a 9mm currently in my carry rotation but am considering just going with my wheel gun with a speedload on hand. I just love the .357 platform and can shoot it quite well.

PabloJ,

I am glad you like your evil-bottom-feeding/rude-case-tossing Tupperware firearm - but this is a revolver sub-forum. I would expect more of the roundgun's virtues to be praised here. Of course, if it's round capacity you are after, there is always the "Rambo" solution - an M60 MG with the infamous Hollywood unlimited belt...

The end of this summer will mark fifteen years since I sold my Glock - the most characterless yet dependable self-loader I have ever owned - a G21 - and completed my change to revolvers.

Not rude just practical. You should have kept G21. In practical terms G21 = two revolvers.

Wow. Just wow. Maybe, juuust maybe, we aren't all PabloJ. Mayyybe we have differing opinions. Me? I'd take my Speed Six over a Glock 21 any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Don't get me wrong, for purely practical purposes, I do have an M&P9. 17+1 is comforting.
BUT if push came to shove, I'd ditch the M&P before any of my wheelguns.

I also recommend that you not tell other people what's best for them. We don't take too kindly around here to things like that, whether it's from politicians, or anonymous posters on an internet board. Telling people how they would be better off is frowned upon.

I like cell phone time and $10 pocket knives. I will not suggest to people what would be best for them, but after ammo in cylinder is used up they would be better served with high capacity semi-auto.

Revolvers are nice they just lack capacity to be of real value against assailants unless for hunting use in cal. .454 or similar. We pretty much all know speed loaders are next to useless and speed strips are totally worthless.
Typical of the crap from this poster. Maybe the problem is that you need to learn how to shoot instead of relying on high capacity automatics that apparently reload themselves, since you can't be bothered with reloading a revolver. Hope you don't drop your magazine.

Pablo, are you not touting a cartridge about which you said "It would be far more suitable in submachine gun then in a handgun..." in a handgun about which you said "They're charging >$500 for item that costs <$100 to make. The least they could do it put some quality sight that could be used under poor light conditions."

I quite often carry my Ruger Blackhawk. It rides quite well in an El Paso Threepersons holster.

Impressive! That whole setup looks awesome. I've never owned a stainless Blackhawk (just blued ones) but always wanted one. The grips on your are several notches above the norm! I would be wanting to carry that gun in that leather all the time. :what:

I used to carry an SP101 3" with .357s when I was hiking. I love the .357 (I have two revolvers and a Winchester 1892 chambered for it), but I agree with WoodchuckAssassin. I loaded the SP101 with .38 Special + P a lot more often than .357s. The flash and noise of a .357 from a 3" barrel, especially in low light, was more or less overwhelming, even with ear plugs.

I earlier posted a photo of my 3 inch S&W Model 13-3. At work I'm currently carrying a 4 inch S&W Model 686-4 loaded with 135 grain .357 Magnum "Short Barrel" Gold Dots on my duty belt with 4 speedloaders handy. I've continued my 100% qualification scores with the L-frame. I also pocket carry a nickel S&W Model 37 loaded with 135 grain .38 Special +P "Short Barrel" Gold dots.

My combat tupperware-toting coworkers don't make fun of the "old guy" and his "six-shooter" anymore.

I alternate between a 5" j frame m60

I really, really wanted to buy one of those when they came out. Jeff over at gunblast did a very favorable review of one. I even went to a LGS and held one in my hand. But I'm right handed and I would tilt the gun and look down at it.... all I could see was that hole over the cylinder release. Another cool S&W I didn't buy because of the ILS.

I think I made myself feel better by buying some nice 50's or 60's S&W.

I still maintain the hope that S&W will come to their senses someday and either ditch the ILS entirely or at least change it to something like Ruger uses on their single actions. I could live with that. But not the hole in the sideplate.

Nice firearm. All you need is second one that way instead of digging for speed loader you can draw second gun instead.

Nice idea but just like Barney Fife, I only load one bullet in my carry gun.

Yep, everyday.

Love it!

I've got a 6" GP in stainless that's my "never sell" gun.

The local gun store had a Ruger sale a little while back with 4" and 3" GP100s on sale. I'm still kicking myself for not picking one up!

KICK KICK KICK

BTW in answer to the thread topic, I often carry a Ruger LCR chambered in .357mag. I carry Golden Saber 125gr .357 sometimes, but sometimes I'll also use a .38+P depending on the situation.

Rarely, a S&W 686+ on my right hip. Mostly for "around the yard" carry and when deep in the woods.

All day every day I carry Two 357 Snubs. A SP101 and a LCR357. I DON'T CARE If you can reload your semi-auto faster, or if it is flatter, holds more ammo and is faster to reload. I don't care if 9MM is just as good as a 357 from a short barrel. I can shoot my Snubs well, I can reload them without difficulty, follow up shots are no problem. I like Revolvers better. I would be willing to bet that half of the people carrying a semi -auto would not know what to do if they had a fail to feed, double feed, or a stove pipe. Believe it or not it is not like you saw in the movie. If you limp wrist or block the slide or the ejected round you will have a problem. If I'm attacked and have to shove my SP101 against the attackers body, the gun will shoot. I don't have to worry about knocking the Slide out of battery." Slide out of battery " did anyone learn about that in their CCW Class? Chances are if you ever need your gun you will not be standing in the open, in an Isosceles Stance, 21 feet from your attacker. But, I am not a Pro. You must do what you are comfortable with. If you don't practice clearing malfunctions, you may want to check into it and carry a back up.
