Any potential 2nd Amendment cases that could be granted cert by SCOTUS this fall?

Forgive me, I don't know how the US Supreme Court works. I do know that a new session starts in October. I don't know if that's when they start discussing new cases that they have already chosen to hear, decide on what cases to grant certiorari, both, or neither.

If October is when SCOTUS decides which cases to hear, are there any potential upcoming 2nd Amendment cases that could be chosen and have a high likelihood of being chosen?

We could really use a positive 2nd Amendment ruling on carry outside the home and the owning/possessing of so-called Assault Weapons and High-Capacity Magazines. Also by October, President Trump will hopefully have had his 2nd SCOTUS judge confirmed which would hopefully give a 2nd Amendment case a more promising chance of being granted cert and ruled favorably on.

I doubt if a new Justice could be confirmed by the start of the October term. Nothing will change for a long time regarding the Court's unwillingness to hear 2nd Amendment cases. The gun issue is like a "third rail" to the justices. They have enough controversy on their plates as it is.

I’m pretty sure having a new SCOTUS judge seated for October is the the Senate and presidents plan.

The wheels of the confirmation process grind slowly, even in the best of times. This time, the Democrats are going to be trying every delaying tactic they can think of. On top of that, many Senators are going to be out campaigning. It will be tough even assembling a quorum in October.

Summer recess has already been canceled for the Senate.

I believe that the Court has denied cert in 2A cases because nobody was sure they could get a majority to uphold it. If so, we should see them start to accept 2A cases.

At least one of the candidates is a real firecracker on 2A. He has written in lower court rulings that magazine restrictions are unconstitutional and that states must allow open carry or be shall issue.
