Any speculation as to the super secret new Ruger gun?

I wonder how much of it will be investment castings.

ETA: If they release stripped lowers, I'm going to buy one for my next AR build, and do a jig on Bill Ruger's grave while holding the thing.

I don't care. I still haven't seen a LCR and only one LCP.

This. How long has it been since the LCP was released? Methinks Ruger needs to step up production of the things that are already on the market. I have yet to ever seen an LCP. And I still can't buy one online either (not counting the occasional overpriced Gunbroker auctions). I mean honestly, how long can it really take to simply build a lot of LCPs? Really?

Maybe an "XGI". It was advertised almost 30 years ago and still hasn't arrived!!! Maybe, Huh?
Man you have a long memory. I had completely forgotten about that. Wonder what the problem was.

Why would you want to stand in a line that long? :)

Bill Ruger was a one-time maverick firearms innovator who morphed slowly into a stubborn, hubric, Old Fudd, who would'nt adapt with the times. Ruger, Inc. is now 20 years behind the times. They have a lot of catching up to do. The SR-556 is a damn fine start in the right direction.

I pray to the Great Odin that Ruger will make a ban-compliant model for those of us in the Peoples Republic of Connecticut, and the other 'slave' states. :banghead:

I like it. Factor in 3 magpul mags and Troy BUIS and figure it will actually sell for $1500-$1700 and It starts to look a bit more reasonable.

I would have liked to have seen them do the mini 14 that accepts standard ar 15 mags, couldn't be that hard. I'd also like to see a mini 14 variant in 7.62x51 at the same price point as the mini 14 and 30.

Still....

I say good job Ruger for updating your offerings and committing to produce quality rifles that the grabbers are scared of...

One of the things I've always liked about Ruger products is the good quality for a reasonable price.

Their new AR is probably good quality, but for that price you have many proven, high quality options for an AR.

+1
I'll stick with my current AR until Ruger goes through the Recall Process that the SR9 and LCP did...Hope they didn't rush this one out into production...

the fact that they put so many things on it like a chrome-plated bolt carrier, Troy sights and rails, etc. leads me to believe they are trying to make up for the fact that it will break and/or shoot 3-4" moa :neener:

but seriously, the price seems about right if they didn't cut corners on 'the chart' specifications, and you factor in the gas piston system, rails, etc.

But, that is assuming alot...
