Any SXS Shooters?

Compact stoeger double trigger 20 guage. Sold my coach gun to get almost the same thing but with screw in chokes. Even up. Very popular. Also lives against my end table with 3 inch turkey loads. Does this count. 1204231802.jpg

I pretty much learned shot gunning with a Spanish SxS with double triggers--it was retired when it started doubling---imagine my surprise when that first happened with heavy pheasant loads and my shoulder hurt for 2 weeks----I was quickly gifted a new Wingmaster that Christmas. I'm not sure whatever happened to that gun or if my dad ever got it fixed----it was a sweet handling gun.

I've been looking over the CZ's at Scheel's but still not sure about the whole Turkish gun thing plus I have better guns in the safe already---but do love me a nice lightweight SxS. Guns Unlimited might still have some new old stock SKB SxS's on hand---I'll have to check.

First time I shot a shotgun, age 10, it was a SxS 16g. It doubled. I own that gun now. Still love it.

I was raised on a SxS LCSmith double 12. 30” tubes. As I was raised on one, I don’t have any trouble with the SxS vs O/U “aiming” (pointing, actually). Double triggers are a great way to go, esp when birds jump further away than you’d like ( easy on-the-spot choke regualtion). When my age started going to heck, I switched down to a twenty gauge and am bummed I didn’t downshift earlier. The 20 LC I got fits me like a glove - wish I had the old 12 gauge fitted sometime long ago. It makes a big difference. I could have been using a twenty gauge for decades now, if i had played my cards right. By now I’d be REAL good with it. For younger guys, the O/U might be an easier way to go, but S/S isn’t hard. I’d recommend a twenty. And I won’t go to a siingle trigger. I like the speed and choice of the double trigger.

Was wondering whether some here like double trigger SXS doubles?

I'm kind of partial to them.
My Husqvarna model 615 is one of my favorite guns. Killed many many squirrels with it. It's fitted for Carlson's tru choke SD. I keep improved modified in one side and full choke in the other. I call it the knuckle buster because I've busted my knuckle on my middle finger wide open before shooting it. The recoil caused the trigger that sits further back to split the flesh on the knuckle in question. If I hunt with this gun now in the early season when it ain't so cold I hunt Michael Jackson style (with one glove on)

I have a Miroku 500 12 ga,SxS and a Fabarm O/U both with the "correct" number of triggers... TWO :)
I had a Miroku 500 like yours many years ago. I had the chambers lengthened to 3" and killed several boatloads of ducks with it. It was a finely made gun for a field grade SXS. The fit and finish were superior.

I forgot to add what I specifically like about a double trigger side by side that is an extraction gun as opposed to an ejection gun or one with just one trigger. I like having two barrels with different chokes as well as the option to choose which of these fires followed by the ability to fire one of the two then easily unload the spent shell from the just fired barrel then reload just that one without having to worry about the ejector kicking both out at me. I like being able to decide, that squirrel is pretty far off I'm gonna pull the full choke trigger or that ones moving around a lot I'm gonna pull the improved modified trigger

I love guns of this type, and have been through a few. The first gun that was officially "mine" was a Savage Fox Model B in 20 gauge. When I got old enough to purchase guns on my own, I traded it off for an Ithaca 37, but I often wish I'd kept the Fox. Right now, the only double trigger SxS I own is an old (probably 100 years old, if not more) Stevens 335. This is strictly a home-defense gun; it's built like a tank, and is nearly as heavy. Even after a gunsmith removed 4" of the barrels, it's still about 8 pounds. But if I had to shoo someone away from the house, this is probably the tool I'd use. If I ran out of shots, it would make a very effective club.

My go-to upland gun is a 20-gauge Ithaca/SKB model 100. It has a single selective trigger. It's light as a feather, and hell on doves. I used to use it to shoot skeet, and did pretty well with it. If pressed, I'd probably pick it as the favorite of my dozen-or-so shotguns.

Perhaps I'll post pictures later.:)

You like the same thing I like about the two triggers. Just for me it's a squirrel instead of a bird but really you can't beat having two different chokes and the ability to choose the right one for the situation

The very first shotgun I ever fired was an LC Smith 20 ga SxS double triggers full/mod.
I still have it and it goes quail hunting and dove hunting every so often. What a fine classic SxS.
I also have a Parker 12ga sxs, and a Navy arms 12ga caplock muzzleloader SxS .
Two family heirloom SxS in 12ga and 16ga.
